Dr. STeve Danzer has an immediate opening for a motivated postdoctoral research fellow. We are exploring the role of disrupted mTOR signaling in mediating the aberrant integration of abnormal neurons in the hippocampus. Mutations in mTOR signaling pathway genes, such as PTEN, TSC1 and TSC2, cause epilepsy, autism and cognitive dysfunction in humans. Ongoing research in the lab is aimed at understanding how disrupted mTOR signaling promotes the aberrant rewiring of hippocampal neurons, and whether modulating this pathway can be used to prevent and treat epilepsy. Dr. Anna Esbensen's laboratory in the Division of Developmental Disabilities and Behavioral Pediatrics is looking for a motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join her laboratory focused on clinical and behavioral outcomes research with children and adolescents with Down Syndrome. The fellow will be involved in several studies, including clinical trials of school-age children with Down syndrome, measuring cognitive or language outcomes in preschool to school-age children with Down syndrome and a study developing a novel behavioral outcome measure for use with individuals with Down syndrome. Join the Ratner Lab in the Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology Division, where we investigate how glial-axon interactions shape nervous system development and how they go awry in disorders such as neurofibromatosis types 1 and 2-with the goal of translating discoveries into novel therapies. As a Research Assistant (mouse animal technician) in our preclinical therapeutics program, you'll contribute to in vivo studies and ex vivo analyses using flow cytometry and/or PK/PD assessment to evaluate candidate therapeutics. We're looking for a team‑oriented scientist who is comfortable with flexible scheduling-including weekend work-and energized by advancing treatments for patients with nerve‑associated tumors in our collaborative research lab. The Dixit Lab in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at Cincinnati Children's investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms that shape protective and detrimental immune responses in acute and chronic pancreatitis. Our team seeks to uncover the drivers of unresolved inflammation, fibrosis, immune suppression, and the progression to pancreatic cancer, with a particular emphasis on immune dysregulation across pancreatitis and tumor development. As a Research Assistant, you will join a collaborative, translational environment dedicated to rigorous bench science and impactful discovery-supporting experiments that illuminate how inflammatory pathways, stromal interactions, and immune cell function contribute to pancreatic disease and its outcomes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry, as well as familiarity with mouse models and imaging techniques.
