Sikhs have been in America for over 100 years, first entering California in 1899.
General Board of Directors meetings are scheduled on the third Thursday of each month from 7:30am to 9:00am at the NUSD District Office, 1901 Arena Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95834.
In 1964, Margaret Flynn became Sacramento County’s first woman judge.
At times, they’ve been mistaken for Middle East terrorists and targeted for hate crimes. It’s particularly important to remember the positive contributions of Sikhs because they’ve periodically been victimized by bigotry since the World Trade Center attack in 2001.
The Natomas Schools Foundation (NSF) is a non-profit benefit organization founded in 2004.
It is my honor to announce that Natomas Unified School District recognizes November as Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month, an important month that was adopted by our State Assembly in 2017.
