What you'll be challenged to do
As a Rope Access - Bridge Inspector, you will step into work that strengthens transportation networks and supports safe travel for communities across the country. Rope access inspection gives you a front row view of complex structures and offers a path to grow your technical skills while working on projects that shape daily movement for millions of people. This role opens doors to advanced inspection methods, exposure to complex bridges and structures, and steady support from mentors who guide your development within GFT. We are seeking bridge inspection engineers who currently hold a SPRAT Level I certification with the ability and desire to progress in this role. This hybrid role offers flexibility in where you live and work while keeping you connected to our National Bridge Inspection Team. Frequent travel is required.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Assist with field inspection work using rope access methods (SPRAT)
* Support rope access setup, equipment checks, and basic rescue planning
* Record inspection notes and photographs with clear detail
* Help prepare inspection reports
* Work closely with team leaders and project managers to complete inspection tasks
* Coordinate day-to-day field activities
* Maintain and organize inspection gear
* Travel throughout the United States for inspection assignments
What you will bring to our firm:
* Associate's degree in engineering related field or High School degree with technical training
* SPRAT Level I certification
* Experience operating bucket trucks, manlifts, or under-bridge inspection vehicles
* One year of rope access experience on bridges
* Ability to read plans and follow technical guidance
* Effective communication and commitment to team coordination
* Basic proficiency with MS Office
* Valid driver's license
* Ability to work at height, carry equipment, and move safely in varied environments
* Interest in advancing your skills within rope access and inspection work

* Exposure to NDT methods or interest in learning them

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $74,000 -$145,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.

Job DescriptionFIELD INSPECTOR Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Operations The Field Inspector is responsible for spending about 75% of the time in the field to represent the company on site before, during, and at the close out of fiber optic construction projects with construction contractors and permit jurisdictions. Most projects are within 45 minutes drive of Columbus, OH, while occasional travel for up to one week to other regions is required. Being closely familiar with company construction and documentation standards, permit applications and stipulations, and construction methods, the Field Inspector will educate, reinforce, and document quality fiber optic construction. About 25% of the time will be spent preparing presentations on project schedule and status, reviewing submitted construction logs and photos, and reconciling invoices and inventory against reported amounts.

Job Responsibilities:
Conduct physical inspections on either commercial or residential properties.

Correspond with insured via phone, email and text message as necessary to set up appointments
Complete a physical loss control survey to identify any current issues or hazards
After physical inspection is completed, prepare required reports to which includes multiple pictures
Communicate survey status via internal progress reports
Job Requirements:
Competent use of digital camera, word processing and e-mail
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record (based on NEIS guidelines)
Must live within 30-mile radius of territory
Job will be based from home with required travel to each inspection location within your assigned territory
Maintain automobile insurance while employed with bodily injury limits equal to or greater than $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident or $300,000 combined
