Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred but not always required).
Experience with packaging machinery or equipment is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Ability to operatepackaging machines (knowledge of machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting).
Understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packaging processes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects (typically 30-50 lbs) as required by the role.

Being a Processing Operator means being at the heart of how we make our products. It's a hands-on, fast-paced role where you'll learn how to run equipment, troubleshoot issues, and help keep our production lines moving smoothly. This is a great opportunity to build valuable skills, take on more responsibility, and be part of a team that makes a real impact every day. Our processing area is where we prepare, mix, extrude, cut, and oversee the production of the fig-bars across our production lines. We have four lines onsite. Here's a simple overview of what each part does:
Ideal candidates:
Experience with inventory management, SAP or similar systems, data tracking, and processing. Forklift experience. Those comfortable with physical work, machine operation, and quick task management. Attention to detail, focus, experience with older or less mobile workers, self-starters.
Physical demands:
Heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, operating machinery.
(must have ability to lift 50 lbs.)
Main Processing Areas & Their Roles
Pre-Scale:
Creating batch records in SAP
Gathering raw ingredients like sugar and measuring them precisely following recipes
Building batches or kits for the mixers
Creating labels in SAP/Checking inventory
Mixing:
Moving kits from pre-scale to the mixer (using a forklift)
Loading ingredients into the mixer using proper tools (like sifters and box cutters)
Following batch recipes carefully, especially timing (e.g., jam every 40 minutes)
Managing time efficiently to produce more batches
Extruders:
Loading dough and jam into hoppers that combine into our fig bars
Using forklifts to move materials to hoppers
Maintaining oven temperatures and entering data into our system
Troubleshooting jams and cleaning equipment
Note:
Hoppers lead to the oven, and attention to detail is key.
Guillotine:
Cutting bars into the correct sizes
Removing any defective products (burned, misshapen, holes)
Communicating with the extruders about jams or issues
Floater/Material Manager:
Supporting different areas as needed
Moving simple tasks out of other departments
Operating forklifts and managing materials efficiently

Batching Operator
This position is responsible for batching activities as required by production demand; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.

Job Description
Pay: $19.44 per hour
This position is reserved for employees that are dedicated to step up from an entry level position on the manufacturing floor. Qualified candidates must be able to perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as required; and must be able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as required.

Report to supervisor when equipment needs attention
Report/resolve any observed quality issues while operating line
Proper start up, running and shut down of line
Basic Ammonia Operation
Knowledge of process flow and ability to trace flow from source tank to filling process
Basic Votator/Perfector operation
Basic understanding of pumps, valves, filters, and heat exchangers

Production Operator (Days) 2-2-3 schedule
This position is responsible for daily operations of the production floor; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.
Essential Functions
* Responsible for daily activities of the production line(s), ensuring product adheres to Niagara's standard of safety, quality, and throughput.

Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and responsible for day-to-day operations associated an array of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. *(Niagara purchases primarily Husky, but also other OEMs).

Core Responsibilities:
Operate in a safe manner by following all established safety policy and procedures.
Follow all Food Safety rules/regulations. This is to include all Plant Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Execute company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Report any quality issues or equipment defects to the production supervisor.
Ensure and assist in sanitation/cleaning and quality control operations.
Communicate required information to co-workers and managers.
Rotate line duties as requested by Production Supervisor.
Follow tally sheets based off the daily production plans.
Ensure planned production quantities are met by effectively utilizing both the production equipment and human resources available.
Assists Maintenance Department personnel on the repair or set-up of machine to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
Take an active role in start-ups and changeovers to have assigned machine ready to operate when product is available, including CIP's when necessary.
Maintain a food safe environment, complying with company policies, GMPs, and FDA/USDA regulations.
Must be able to work in a production environment while continuously performing above essential job functions.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the production supervisor
Requirements

Work Schedules
Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley employees.
When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods - especially the holiday periods in December and the months of January and February - you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road.
Working Conditions
At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
Uniforms

Who you are
* Energetic, friendly and outgoing with strong customer service skills

* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 30 pounds
* Must be able to pass certification course (training provided)
What you will do
* Greeting all guests and employees promptly and enthusiastically
* Efficient gondola operation
* Helping guests load and unload
* Loading and unloading guests' ski and snowboard gear
* Maintenance of all areas of gondola building and gondola cabins
* Assisting homeowners and hotel guests with luggage and personal items
* Shipping and receiving
* Crowd control
* Familiarity with Sugar Bowl and ability to answer guest questions
* Snow removal and shoveling before, during and after storms
