Irving Zaks, was appointed vice president of Strategic Planning and Development for the Defense Group in April 2007. Prior to that Irv played a pivotal role in supporting DRC's mission to assist our defense organization with critical C4ISR operations as the Vice President and General Manager of our C4ISR operation. Irv brings more than 35 years of management and business development experience to this position, giving him the ideal skill set to lead the Defense Group team in delivering industry-leading services to our defense customers. His talent and vision will strengthen DRC's ability to support the procurement and fielding of information systems and services that feed vital situational information to the commander and soldier on the ground. Prior to joining DRC in March 2005 as Senior Consultant for Capture and Acquisition, Irv served as a consultant to the U.S. Air Force Chief Information Officer for 3 years. Prior to that, he had a successful career with GTE Corporation in a variety of roles, including Vice President and General Manager, Information Systems Division. Among his accomplishments, Irv was instrumental in successfully fielding several large, software-intensive systems that are in use by military forces throughout the world today. Under his management, several communications systems were developed to control the status of our missile fleet and communicate via commercial satellites with soldiers and sailors in the battlefield and afloat.
