The team must balance multiple competing objectives. The Role As an Engineering Intern, you will: Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to design, analyze, and test mechanical and/or structural components. Basic Qualifications Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls Qualified candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program from an accredited college or university studying Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline Ability to work onsite in Torrance, CA 40+ hours of weekly availability for 12 consecutive weeks (summer 2026) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in at least one of the following: CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) Programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB) Simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL) Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Active leadership in Formula SAE, Baja, Hyperloop, rocket, UAV, or design teams Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies or robotics. Experience with automation, control systems, or data visualization. Prior project, lab, or internship experience in advanced manufacturing or product development. Required Skills: • Basic knowledge of telecommunications, LAN cabling, and data circuits. • Self-motivated with good judgment under pressure. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Experience with physical network and PC equipment installations. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to lift 20 lbs. repeatedly. • Understanding of cabling infrastructure and standards.
