In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and oversight of an Enterprise Export Control Compliance Program. Your expertise will facilitate compliance with export control and research security regulations across various departments. As part of a collaborative team, your input will help streamline operations and ensure high standards of compliance, significantly impacting the overall patient care experience.Accountabilities
Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert on export control and research security regulations.
Stay informed on current and changing laws, regulations, and enforcement actions.
Develop and maintain export control and research security policies and procedures.
Execute training and education programs on export control and research security.
Conduct export control reviews and restricted party screenings.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to integrate compliance into product development processes.
Work with Protective Services to operationalize travel programs.
Document and present compliance findings and recommendations.
Assist research teams with resolving compliance issues.
Maintain documentation of monitoring reports and investigative findings.
Collect and analyze data on monitoring findings.
Manage external inspections by regulatory agencies.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Advanced degree preferred (master's, Doctorate, or Juris Doctor).
Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in export control compliance in a relevant setting.
At least three (3) years in a program management or supervisory role preferred.
Effective communication skills with government agencies.
Working knowledge of export control regulations.
Project management experience and understanding of root cause analysis.
Comfort working in matrixed relationships.

Candidates should have an active security clearance and be fluent in one of the target languages to work in the US Army Africa Command (AFRICOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR). Additional requirements include experience transcribing and analyzing documents, and conducting real -time interpretation during interviews and meetings with high ranking military and police officials, tribal leaders, and government officials.

Job Description:
The Export Control Officer is responsible for ensuring UToledo's compliance with export control laws and regulations. This position will manage a university-wide export control program, including policies and procedures, training, and monitoring. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding export control matters and work collaboratively with various departments to mitigate export control risks, review export control terms in agreements, and promote a culture of compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Licensure:
