Nazareth University announces the opportunity to join a collegial team of faculty who value contributions to the success of students and the department. The University and Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a full time, 10.5 month clinical assistant professor position to begin August 2026.
Clinical faculty supervise practicum experiences for Nazareth undergraduate and graduate students assigned to the on-campus Speech-Language Clinic and to community-based outreach programs operated by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). Clinical education is provided in accordance with ASHA standards and includes direct supervision of both therapy and diagnostic services. Responsibilities include coordination and collaboration with students, clients, and families within clinical settings, as well as participation in interprofessional teams across other Nazareth clinics and community-based sites. In addition to clinical education responsibilities, clinical faculty are assigned undergraduate or graduate teaching duties aligned with their credentials, clinical expertise, and qualifications.
Clinical faculty participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental service activities. This includes assisting with the development and implementation of academic and clinical programs that support the mission and strategic goals of the department. Clinical faculty provide service to the University and the broader professional community through engagement in committees, professional development, outreach, and advocacy.
The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with graduate specialties in autism, deafness, early intervention, bilingual, and medical speech-language pathology. Graduate students can also earn the New York State Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate and Bilingual Education (Spanish) extension. The department has 200+ students (85 graduate students) and 11 FT faculty. Interprofessional collaboration and education are hallmarks of Nazareth University. Our on-campus clinics are located in the state-of-the-art York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, a facility that also houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and creative arts therapy clinics, in addition to our own Speech-Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic (NC3), and Audiology Clinic. Our many active on- and off-campus clinics provide opportunities for clinical supervision and clinically applied research endeavors.
Essential Functions Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills
* Master's degree from an accredited CSD/SLP program
* Current ASHA certification in SLP (CCC-SLP); must have completed at least 2 hours of professional development in clinical instruction/supervision per ASHA guidelines.
* Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in the New York State.
* All candidates should possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Five years of clinical experience in the B-21 population
* Two years clinical education/supervision experience
* Experience working as part of an interprofessional team
Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
* Previous clinical education and/or academic teaching experience.
* Minimum of five years of clinical experience.
* Leadership and/or mentorship experience in the clinical or school setting.

Nazareth University invites applications for Program Director for the new Master's degree and NYS Specialist program in school psychology. This is a 9 month, tenure-track faculty position, with appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor, depending on experience and credentials. There will be opportunities for summer teaching and administrative work, which will be compensated above the 9-month salary. The faculty member will be part of the School of Education, and will collaborate with our programs in Psychology, the College of Interprofessional Health and Human Services, and other relevant areas across campus. The director will report to the Chair and Associate Dean of the School of Education and will collaborate with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, Business, and Education (CLASBE). The Program Director will lead the development, implementation, and accreditation of this program.
Essential Functions
* Planning an innovative program. This planning includes establishing the mission, goals, competencies, and curriculum;
* Recruiting and retaining full-time and part-time faculty;
* Supervising faculty and staff, in collaboration with the Associate Dean and Chair of the School of Education;
* Conducting program review, analysis, and evaluation, including assessment of academic effectiveness;
* Partnering with local school colleagues to establish and maintain required clinical experiences;
* In collaboration with Enrollment Management, recruiting and selecting applicants;
* Providing instruction, evaluating student performance, academic advisement of students, ensuring the availability of instructional support;
* Managing the program's operating budget;
* Obtaining and maintaining National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) accreditation and compliance with all relevant standards and policies.
During the 2026-27 academic year, the teaching load will be determined based on the needs of the program and university and the candidate's expertise. Once the program is established, the teaching load will be 3 courses per semester. There will be an opportunity to teach 1-2 courses during the summer, primarily at the graduate level. (These would be in addition to the director role, which would continue over the summer. Summer director work will be part-time and remunerated via a stipend).

Produces high quality DEXA scans by conducting scans in a safe and efficient manner. + Prepares room and patient per MD order, properly sets up equipment, and positions patients.
+ Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure. Collects patient history prior to completing DEXA scan.
+ Produces a diagnostic, high quality scan for interpretation. Reviews the DEXA scan for accuracy and reports results/issues to supervising MD's office.
+ Operates and maintains equipment to conduct test for DEXA, including daily QA calibration. Initiates service requests for any DEXA scanner issues.
+ Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transfer boards, hover mats.
+ Completes all necessary insurance verification prior to scan and bills for scans accurately.
+ Interacts with internal and external providers/physicians.
+ May participate in clinical trials research, as needed.
+ May assist with training of staff, as needed.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**

Required:
