JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the licensedpracticenurse (LPN) is responsible for the safe delivery of care for the patients in the Wound Healing Center related to wound care as well as hyperbaric treatments. The Hyperbaric Nurse LPN administers oxygen therapy and diagnostic testing to patients under the supervision of a hyperbaric physician. All therapeutic and diagnostic modalities will be ordered by the hyperbaric physician. The Hyperbaric Nurse LPN will be able to demonstrate the following essential competencies, duties and responsibilities as a result of education, experience and NCH initial orientation and ongoing corporate learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
* Performs patient care duties, as appropriate, according to his/her scope of practice and under direct supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
* Performs safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems.
* Is responsible for day-to-day inspection and maintenance of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems.
* Assist in patient preparation for treatment.
* Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.
* Keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation.
* Performs duties and procedures as directed by supervisor and medical director, as appropriate to his/her scope of practice.
* Performs hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance, as required.
* Participates in quality assurance programs.
* Participates in safety program.
* Maintains licensure, competencies, continuing education, and certifications, as appropriate.
* Works with front desk to maintain the schedule for the hyperbaric program.
* Audits charts to ensure all necessary information is present prior to start of therapy. Works with providers to ensure any missing information is in the chart.
If designated role of safety director by clinic leadership the following additional duties/responsibilities apply:
* Is responsible for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric chamber (s) and relate systems and ancillary components.
* Works closely with facility management personnel and department medical personnel to ensure the highest quality of safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
* Makes the necessary recommendations for departmental safety policies and incorporates new safety procedures, as appropriate.
* Has the authority to restrict or remove any potentially hazardous supply or equipment items from the chamber.
* Provides leadership and safety training to other hyperbaric facility personnel.
* Is responsible for maintaining all facility safety-related standards as required by various licensing and regulatory agencies.
* Serves as one of the hyperbaric facility's technical trainers for staff and provides routine in-service training related to various aspects of hyperbaric physiology, decompression requirements, equipment operations, safety, and treatment protocols.
* Generates and supervises hyperbaric chamber safety drills that are tailored to improve staff response to emergency mechanical and medical situations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of High School or GED required.
* Prior wound care/hyperbaric medicine experience preferred but will train the right candidate.
* Licensed as a PracticalNurse (LPN) in the State of Florida.
* Have attended or will attend an approved hyperbaric medicine introductory training course within 120 days of hire.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
* Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
* Epic experience preferred.
* For safety director role only: Attend safety director training course after 1st year and have completed prior to 18 months also must become hyperbaric certified within 24 months of hire.

JOB SUMMARY
The RN Coordinator Professional Practice is responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of the PPE program. Will work in close collaboration with Medical Staff leadership on providing accurate clinical summaries, data trending, reports, and analysis. The Coordinator Professional Practice RN will also monitor significant trends by analyzing aggregate data and monitoring the performance of all practitioners, including behavior concerns, and identify areas for performance improvement and the quality of care we provide. The RN Coordinator Professional Practice will work closely with the Director Practitioner Quality and Director of Physician Leadership and Strategic Integration to develop a peer collegial conversation program. This position is responsible for meeting with Medical Staff leaders to periodically ensure that the professional practice criteria (FPPE/OPPE) are appropriate to the department/ specialty in which the leader represents. This position is responsible for providing any individual education/training on our quality data systems and reviewing all practitioner quality data (FPPE/OPPE) with Medical Staff leaders on pre-determined cadence and on an as needed basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Identify cases meeting the criteria for clinical case review through pulling reports from various data systems.
* Analyze preliminary (RN level) findings of retrospective Morbidity and Mortality review using indicators and screening criteria developed and approved by the Medical Staff.
* Collect data as specified in the Professional Practice Evaluation (PPE) Policy for aggregation, analysis, and presentation.
* Collect data as requested by hospital committees as defined in the PPE-Policy including but not limited to Leadership Council, Physician Excellence Committee, or others for ongoing trends or outlier status and to identify opportunities for improvement. Create charts and graphs to facilitate the communication of data trends.
* Develop and support the new peer review collegial conversation program.
* Maintains a file on each practitioner for tracking and trending and regulatory purposes.
* Maintains a close working relationship with the Committee Chairpersons and members.
* Follows the Peer Review Process as outlined in the MePPE Policy.
* Prepares a summary of all the medical records and other relevant data sources to be reviewed by the PPE Committees.
* Responsible for setting the agenda and recording minutes for the MePPE Committees.
* Attends Medical Staff meetings to facilitate the peer review process as designated.
* Creates and maintains records of the professional practice outcomes.
* Coordinate follow-up planning processes and activities when necessary.
* Coordinates activities with all hospital departments involved in data collection, scheduling of meetings, and interfaces with the Medical Staff Services Department to facilitate communication and appropriate meeting support.
* Expediate timely and accurate triage of Medical Staff related Risk Events Notices, including variance report and patient grievances to the appropriate parties.
* Knowledgeable of Evidence-based, CMS and TJC clinical metrics (i.e. Core Measures, AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators, Hospital Acquired Conditions)

As a Level III Perinatal Center, comprehensive patient centered obstetrical nursing care is provided for both low and high-risk families during the antenatal, labor and delivery and immediate postpartum periods. The Labor and Delivery Unit (L & D) is composed of twenty eight (28) Labor and Delivery Rooms (LDRs) that provide the expectant family with the opportunity to remain together as a unit during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Assists in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment in accordance with resident's needs and facility philosophy. Reporting to the Director of Nursing for the planning, directing, supervision and delivery of resident care. Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete medical records on each resident.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides nursing care according to physicians' orders and in conformance with the NursePractice Act, established standards, and administrative policies. In the NursePractice Act, the “practice of practicalnursing” means the performance of selected acts, including the administration of treatments and medications, in the care of the ill, injured, or infirm and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others under the direction of a registered nurse, a licensed physician, a licensed osteopathic physician, a licensed podiatric physician, or a licensed dentist.
The practicalnurse shall be responsible and accountable for making decisions that are based upon the individual's educational preparation and experience in nursing.
Supervises daily functions of the nursing unit, from CNA supervision to delivery of resident care.
Gives/receives nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
Communicates immediately to supervisor/nursing administration on call any problem requiring immediate attention.
Administers personal hygienic, preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative services to residents and assists in the coordination of nursing care with care rendered by other disciplines.
Admits new residents by collecting data and delivering care per physician orders.
Orders prescribed medications, supplies and equipment as necessary, in accordance with established policies.
Requisitions and arranges for diagnostic and therapeutic services as ordered by resident's physician.
Assembles resident's chart, attaching required forms.
Administers medications, performs procedures and treatments and provides resident care in conformance with the NursePractice Act.
Maintains documentation, which accurately and completely records data pertaining to resident's care, condition and treatment.
Participates as a member in the interdisciplinary resident care conferences in developing a total plan of care, and in communicating that plan to nursing staff caring for the resident.
Coordinates with Social Services and assists in scheduling appointments and arrangements for transportation of residents to other departments or facilities and clinics for diagnostic, therapeutic, dental or medical services.
Confers with the Director of Nursing, as necessary, to provide input regarding resident care needs, staffing requirements, and nursing supply needs for the units.
Discharges or transfers residents and completes necessary forms per facility policy.
Notifies, when necessary, the attending physician and resident's responsible party in the event of a change in the resident's condition.
Maintains a professional attitude at all times on the unit and a professional approach towards nursing care and personnel.
Attends and participates in in-service classes and on-the-job programs as scheduled and directed.
Assures that established infection control and universal precautions are maintained when performing duties.
Administers intravenous medications if certified.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Orlando Health's Student Nurse Extern (SNE) Program is a special program beginning June 1, 2026. The program begins with mandatory orientation and in-person education during week one, followed by 3 12-hour shifts each week with an assigned preceptor. During the summer, ½ day educational sessions are also provided to enhance skills. These sessions include simulation and skills stations, along with lectures and panel discussions.
The program is designed for nursing students who have the summer semester off from the nursing program.
