The University of Miami Department of Interventional Radiology has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Physician. As one of the largest and highest volume Interventional Radiology (IR) departments in the country and a premier academic institution in South Florida, we offer a full spectrum of IR clinical procedures, training and research while serving over 21,000 patients a year. We work with a wide range of specialists across campus - from Liver Transplant, Hepatobiliary, Radiation Oncology, Urology as well as Orthopedics to provide excellent multidisciplinary care. The Staff Physician, Interventional Radiology provides medical care to large array of patients by providing minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. As assigned by the Chairman, the Physician will provide service at the following UM/ JMH locations: Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, UHealth Tower Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, at satellite centers in Broward County (Plantation and Deerfield Beach) the Lennar Foundation medical Center, and UHealth Doral.

Interpret interventional radiology imaging studies and perform interventional procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of new and innovative interventional procedures
Be responsible for evaluating patients both pre and post intervention
Supervise performance of technical personnel.
Evaluate and consult new referrals and follow up patients in IR clinic.
Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of interventional imaging.
Provide interventional imaging consultation as requested.
Provide emergency patient care as in the setting of an Interventional radiology practice.
Be part of the on-call schedule in Interventional Radiology
Assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman related to the practice of interventional imaging.

General Description (Purpose and Function):
The Physician is responsible for assessing physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies. The Physician educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct the care of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
Monitor and maintain pulmonary support for patients, including use and calibration of ventilators and life support systems
Formulate treatment plans, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, and therapeutic measures
Develop post-discharge care in accordance with written practice protocols
Order appropriate laboratory tests according to practice guidelines
Provide supervision of medical services and ensure appropriateness, quality, and safety of patient care within the scope of the division.
Develop, implement, and evaluate an appropriate patient plan of care
Assess severity of patient's condition, determining and directing patients to appropriate medical plan and assessment
Actively participate in quality assurance programs and peer review activities
Determine required referrals based on level of urgency, and patient needs
Exercises final medial judgment in all issues of healthcare
Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention
Consults with Medical Director and other professional on staff as needed regarding patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic
Oversee assigned allied health professional medical staff and nursing clinical
Assist in the resolution of complaints, request and inquiries from patients
Develop priorities for growth of clinical programs to meet patient needs
Enhance quality of care and implement innovations in care
Supplement departmental and research efforts
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations
Document all services in patient medical records for compliance and regulatory adherence
Perform other duties as assigned

UHealth Premier Concierge Medicine is seeking a qualified internal medicine candidate who will have current American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification and at least 5 years of ambulatory care practice experience in an Executive Health, Concierge Medicine and/or General Internal Medicine setting.
The Concierge physician is available to their patients 24/7, 365, via telephone and digital media (i.e. e-mail or messaging via EMR) except when out of office on leave such as for vacation, medical reasons, or conferences. Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system is preferred. Effective communication, sound customer service skills and prompt responsiveness are essential in this role. Compassion, teamwork, adaptability, and high levels of professionalism are required in order to provide the best bedside care and success in this position as we build relationships with our patients. Willingness to innovate and create is a plus.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, direct patient care in an office setting, courtesy rounds for patients in local hospitals as well as skilled nursing and inpatient rehabilitation facilities. Responsibilities may also include home health visits for homebound patients, if necessary, and participation in community events as UHealth ambassadors. Care coordination and facilitation as well as proper documentation of patient encounters in EPIC are essential to making the concierge medicine practice successful.
Prompt communication of results via telephone, electronic messaging (via MyUHealthChart) and/or letters is a top priority. In order to deliver high quality care to our patients, additional responsibilities include effectively communicating and working with the clinical and non-clinical staff members of the Executive Health/Concierge Medicine team throughout the enterprise.

Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The staff physician in the clinical track is responsible for providing direct outpatient care to Gastroenterology patients Uhealth Doral or Sole Mia 9 half days per week. He/she will provide outpatient clinical and endoscopic services to those patients who require Gastroenterology services, and Gastroenterology screening procedures. In addition, the physician will rotate on inpatient services at Uhealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital periodically, and will be on call weekdays, holidays, and weekends proportionate to other physicians in the Division.

Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine (or board eligible)

Valid DEA licensure
Current BLS certification . ACLS
US citizen or valid visa to work in the United States
Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures for prior two years for credentialling

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:
The per-diem hospitalist is responsible for providing coverage when necessary to ensure that the division meets its obligation to provide continuous coverage of the Holtz Children's Hospitals General Pediatrics and Newborn inpatient wards. He/she/they will provide direct in-patient medical care to pediatric and newborn patients. He/she/they will also provide in-patient and outpatient medical consultation in a variety of settings. He/she/they will be involved with medical student and education.
OUTLINE OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Direct care to Pediatric hospitalized patients
· Direct care to Newborns in the Mother-Baby Unit
· Consultation for hospitalized pediatric patients on any service
· Perioperative optimization for Pediatric Patients at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute
· Coordinate Pediatric subspecialty care
· Participate in quality improvement activities
· Participate in committee work
· Participate in medical student, resident and fellow education
· Provide leadership for academic projects in education, quality and safety or division/departmental administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Valid Medical Degree
· Board eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine
· Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply
