Job Description
Position Overview:
The Near North Montessori (NNM) school Library Assistant performs work in support of the school's library spaces and programs, ultimately for students. Responsible as part of the Library team, for maintenance of the space, collection and other resources. Work closely with faculty and students as a resource, guide and expert within the space. This is a school year (10 month), non-exempt position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform basic library tasks to support the use of the library by students, faculty, staff and parents
Lead read-aloud, book groups and other small student group activities as scheduled with classrooms, Librarian and more
Be a point of contact for the library, answer questions, resolve problems, explain and enforce policies for library visitors in person, by email and through other channels
Execute both independent work and collaborative work with the Librarian and other faculty assisting students and performing a full range of circulation functions including checking books out and in, reshelving, locating materials, editing records, helping with book or material orders, etc.
Help maintain physical collection and library spaces aligned with the school and Librarian's vision and plans
Create and post signage for events and meetings and other relevant activities
Assist in the creation and maintenance of a school library database for the collection
Actively participate in departmental, all-staff and other meetings relevant to the role and work
Troubleshoot and resolve basic connectivity and usage issues with various library equipment (AV, computers, peripherals), and remote access to resources; coordinates maintenance and updates to tech equipment as needed with technology team
Staff the library service desk, monitor email, and other library systems and resources
Identify relevant library resources (e.g. guides, resource lists) to support faculty and student research, information gathering and more
Responsible for supervising the children who come for early morning childcare during the school year
With advance notice, attend an overnight trip with the elementary level, as assigned
Acquire professional training in the educational field by attending educational conferences, training workshops and other related activities

Job Description
We are seeking candidates to fill our Weekend & After School Lifeguard role! This role will be set to start as soon as possible, working year round, with hours increasing in the summer for summer camp.
Schedule: Saturdays, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, starting in as soon as possible. After-School as needed, weekdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Hours will increase during the summer for summer camp.
Our Weekend & After School Lifeguards help to keep students and other pool visitors safe and provide general assistance when needed. They will work directly with students (ages 3-14) and a great team of aquatics teachers. Specific responsibilities include:
Teach swim lessons to the 3 to 6 year old age group.
Actively guard and scan the pool area.
Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazards in the pool and aquatics area.
Enforce pool rules and policies, and help to educate students and visitors about them.
Assist in clearing all swimmers from the water when necessary.
Assist students and other pool visitors in non-emergency situations.
Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies, following training and facility protocols.
Report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
Assist in educating students about safe pool use and help provide swim instruction or manage pool games when appropriate.
Perform general pool or locker room maintenance or other tasks in the pool area as assigned.
Participate in regular in-service trainings; maintain certification and physical ability/fitness level in order to effectively respond to an emergency.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Qualifications
Must be actively certified in the following areas:
ARC-Lifeguarding and First Aid.
ARC-CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
Prerequisites for American Red Cross lifeguard and rescuer trainings include a minimum age of 15 and passing certain swimming requirements.
Previous swimming experience and swim instruction and/or lifeguarding experience is required; preferably with 3 to 6 year old children.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with others.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Manager/Head Golf Pro, the cart and range staff need to be knowledgeable in all aspects of Golf Course operations and "excellent" customer service. This position should be able to manage the cart fleet, and driving range. Should be able to record and relate details verbally and in written form. Must be able to deal with emergency situations. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contingent Fire Science Skills Evaluator

The Fire Science Technology Department within Harper College's Career and Technical Programs provides education and certification pathways that prepare students for careers in the fire service. Programs integrate academic knowledge with hands-on technical training to meet Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) standards and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) performance criteria.
Duties of Position:
The Fire Science Skills Evaluator is responsible for supervising and evaluating student performance during practical skill sessions and examinations within the Fire Science Technology program, including the Basic Operations Firefighter Academy. The evaluator works under the direction of the Lead Instructor and supports the Lead Instructor in facilitating and assessing course skill components to ensure compliance with established standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities include:
* Administering and evaluating live skill assessments for OSFM and NFPA aligned courses such as Basic Operations Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Apparatus Engineer, Advanced Technician Firefighter, Rope Operations, and others.
* Ensuring all training and evaluation activities meet NFPA 1403, OSFM, and Harper College safety standards.
* Providing clear feedback and performance documentation for student skill demonstration sand evaluations.
* Assisting with setup and breakdown of training props and equipment.
* Collaborating with instructors and academy staff to ensure consistency in evaluation criteria and student support.
* Maintaining accurate records of skill completion and attendance in accordance with department and OSFM guidelines.
* Serving as a professional role model for students, reinforcing the importance of safety, teamwork, and professionalism in the fire service.
Educational Requirements:
* Successful completion of the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Fire Service Instructor II certification, or an equivalent Instructor II certification issued by another state fire marshal or recognized authority, is required.
* Certification in the specific course(s) evaluated, as issued or recognized by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) or an equivalent state agency, is required.
* An associate degree from an accredited institution and relevant professional experience are required.
Experience Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of experience working in the fire service field.
* Experience conducting or evaluating fire and emergency services training programs.
* Experience teaching fire service courses and evaluating student performance in fire skills training preferred.
Other Requirements:
* Must maintain all required OSFM certifications.
* Ability to wear firefighter personal protective equipment (PPE) and operate safely in training environments following NFPA 1403 and 1010 guidelines.
