Mike Akerlow is the current CEO of Community Development Corporation of Utah. Mike comes to CDCU after nearly ten years working at Salt Lake City Corporation where he served as the Director of Housing and Neighborhood Development, the Deputy Director of the Department of Community and Neighborhoods, and the Economic Development Manager. In these roles, he was responsible for the management of the City’s allocation of federal grants, overseeing the City’s housing programs, capital asset management and capital improvements programs; real estate services; and the Sorenson Unity Center with the mission to revitalize, strengthen and support Salt Lake City communities. Mr. Akerlow holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah, where he graduated as a member of Phi Kappa Phi and received his Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
