NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a seasonal Palletizer Operator to operate console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets containers of finished products at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically August - November.

Key Responsibilities:
Always Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority through conversations, communications and actions.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and notifies maintenance mechanic if there are issues or concerns.
Visually observes cans on the conveyers to ensure there are no dents or defects.
Pushes buttons on machine to ensure cans are cycled onto the pallets; may use a tool to move cans into position if needed.
Confirms can codes are correct for product being run; communicates with the Tagging Clerk.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility, preferably in the food industry.
Able to read and write English.
Able to operate all palletizer lines, regardless of the can size.
Requires ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.
Compensation:
The hourly union wage is $21.50, with a 2
nd
shift differential of $.50, and a 3
rd
shift differential of $1.00.

We are looking for a seasonal Tagger I to ensure that canned product is accurately coded and tagged to allow inventory personnel to accurately track finished goods in warehouses. This role will be responsible for inspecting canned products for coding and can quality at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. Key Responsibilities:
Prime responsibility will be to ensure products are coded and tagged according to product specifications.
Works closely with the palletizing lead and quality control to ensure damaged product is accounted for and tags are accurate.
Reviews and audits brite stock for quality.
Pulls USDA samples according to pull sheet (13x per shift) as needed.
Complies with Food Safety initiatives and performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; some college level work preferred.
At least one year of warehouse experience, preferred.
Good math skills and ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
English verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
Compensation:
The hourly union wage is $18.50 - $19.50, based on experience and qualifications, with a 2
nd
shift differential of $.50 and a 3
rd
shift differential of $1.00.

Key Responsibilities:
Uses proper tools to remove shrink wrap from pallets of empty cans.
Removes fiber or wood tops from pallets; able to stack tops.
Uses push buttons or levers to move pallets.
Collects tags from each pallet and turns them into quality control at the end of the shift.
Communicates with empty can forklift driver and/or floor leads if there are issues to be addressed.
Requirements:
Able to communicate with others verbally and remain calm under stress and strain.
Complies with all Food Safety Initiatives and performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
Able to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
Able to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
