Works on Helpdesk related projects as assigned by supervisor. Provide end user support for mobile devices (Smartphones/Tablets) across multiple platforms (Android/iOS). Requirements and Preferred Skills: Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a relevant subject matter preferred. 1-2 years equivalent work experience in an enterprise network/windows domain environment. Experience and knowledge of troubleshooting Microsoft Operating Systems. May be involved with providing technical support to Operations Team for training and staff development (i.e. cross training production personnel for first level-maintenance activities) Maintain packaging and process equipment through execution of preventive maintenance programs. Troubleshoot and repair packaging and process equipment including Fillers, Cappers, Case Erectors, Case Packers, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. HS Diploma is required but applicable experience will be consisted in lieu of licensing or education. 2 (two-year) associate degree, licensing, or equivalent trade school technical training in related field highly preferred, A minimum of three (3) years of mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience (manufacturing, automotive, farming, or related) is preferred . Experience in the following areas is advantageous and would warrant a higher starting pay rate: Familiarity with packaging equipment such as: Fillers, Cappers, Case Packers, conveyors, tanks, and pumps Experience in food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing, specifically working to meet GMP, OSHA, FDA, EPA standards is preferred Experience utilizing a CMMS system is preferred Experience troubleshooting to identify root-cause issues on mechanical equipment or components. What you'll do: The position is centered around project management, controls engineering, and lean principles within a manufacturing plant. With a strong focus on process controls, the individual will prioritize safety culture, policy adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as a project engineer, they will lead and manage all engineering projects, leveraging lean methodologies to optimize processes and enhance efficiency. This role combines technical expertise in controls engineering with strategic project management skills to drive success in the plant's operations. Essential Functions: • Manage capital projects related to manufacturing and packaging infrastructure, ensuring successful completion within defined scope, allocated costs, and time commitments. • Assist in identifying and justifying engineering proposals, providing input for capital planning process in the manufacturing and packaging areas. • Lead cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and achieve critical objectives in manufacturing and packaging processes. • Understand the business needs, risks, and dynamics of the organization, and make informed decisions to develop alternate plans and choices. • Develop customized reports and data analysis using OSI PI and Power BI software applications to optimize manufacturing and packaging operations. • Promote a safety culture and awareness within the manufacturing and packaging areas, ensuring adherence to all plant safety policies and procedures. • Support and enforce local and corporate policies and procedures related to quality, safety, and fairness. • Assist in the design and modification of process control and instrumentation systems to enhance manufacturing and packaging efficiency. • Provide technical and administrative support to manufacturing and distribution teams in areas such as PLCs, microprocessors, automation, and instrumentation. Allen Bradley Software, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, RS Logix 500 • Troubleshoot and improve cycle time throughput by leveraging automation and control systems in manufacturing processes. • Coordinate technical training programs for operations and maintenance personnel in instrumentation and controls. • Identify and support cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives in manufacturing and packaging operations. • Continuously enhance packaging equipment controls logic to optimize efficiency and minimize waste. • Actively lead the implementation of plant-wide 5S, 6 Sigma, lean manufacturing, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives, integrating lean manufacturing principles within the engineering department. • Perform other related duties as required and assigned in the manufacturing and packaging functions. What you'll need: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Automation, Packaging, Controls. • 3-5 years previous engineering experience in high volume, multiple SKU, fast-paced manufacturing environment. CPG experience preferred. • Flexibility to work various hours and shifts as needed, especially during large projects, installations, etc. • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization • Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etc. • Excellent organizational/time management skills. • Direct technical experience in the design, assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of PLC/HMI based control systems • Capability to calibrate and test controls, verify instrumentation accuracy and effectiveness and perform routine maintenance on the plant-wide controls system • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced, dynamic, production driven work environment. • Solid critical thinking skills and ability to create new, innovative ways to handle situations with a strong bias towards Continuous Improvement fundamentals. • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including Six Sigma, 6S, TPM, etc. • Strong computer skills: Allen Bradley Software, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, RS Logix 500 • Ability to methodically collect and analyze data and make appropriate recommendations, Power BI and/or OSI-PI a plus. • Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc. Working Conditions: Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Moderate physical activity, requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
