POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Specialist performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections and/or standard microbiological, chemical, physical or sensory testing and assays on products, materials, components, etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards. Position Summary
Assists in the development, implementation, repair, and maintenance of the site wide instrumentation, control, and electrical systems to attain "World Class" performance.
Responsibilities
* Performs system start-ups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.
* Reloads and reboots PLC to restore faulted equipment after power outages.
* Performs preventative maintenance and routine inspections
* Provides hardware and software application support assistance to maintenance, engineering, and operations.
* Sets up and configures replacement boards and assemblies to fit specific applications
* Specifies, organizes, and maintains adequate spare parts and modules for control and instrumentation systems.
* Tunes automatic feedback on closed loops using PID Controllers
* Maintains ''to-do'' lists and system trouble reports and routinely report status
* Participate in the development of project scopes, design of systems, and functional specifications.
* Utilizes technical materials such as equipment manuals, MSDS, safety materials, system drawings, Process, and Instrument Diagrams (PID's), schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
* Participates in cross-functional process improvement teams to drive plant performance through improved processes and system performance.
* Participates in the creation and implementation of a training program for the Maintenance Technicians and operations employees around the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of integrated controls and information systems.
* Maintains plant documentation in accordance with management of change procedures.
Requirements
Education
* 4-year degree in an Electrical Engineer preferred OR a proven record of accomplishment achieving positive results and increased engineering & maintenance leadership responsibilities with very strong process controls background required.
Experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret and troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuits.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Control Systems
* Demonstrated ability to solve problems, troubleshoot complicated process control systems, apply root cause failure techniques, to anticipate changes, and react to avoid disruptions
* Demonstrated ability to utilize MS-Excel to analyze data and other computer applications such as MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, and e-mail
* Capable of interfacing with all levels of the workforce, laterally as well as vertically (exempt and non-exempt), operations, maintenance, planners, management, plant engineering, contractors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
* Demonstrated ability to give clear, concise communications. Provide information, observations, and conclusions that are understood and can be acted upon.

Position Summary
Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Team Leader and the guidance of other members of maintenance/engineering, operations and plant management team.
Responsibilities
1. Always works in a safety conscious manner.
2. Assists in the cross training of Maintenance Team and other Team Members.
3. Assists in preflight of systems to ensure efficient start-ups.
4. Recommends improvements to reduce cost, production downtime and increase efficiency in area of responsibility. Implements improvements as approved.
5. Consistently applies effective troubleshooting skills.
6. Completes cost-effective repairs in a timely manner.
7. Interprets and understands engineering drawings, manufacturer's instructions and plant maintenance procedures and specifications.
8. Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments. Communicates with various levels of supervision and management in all departments in a timely and professional manner.
9. Able to use and demonstrate proper care of tools and instruments required in job assignments.
10. Ensures that all machinery is in safe working condition. Adheres to safety policies and procedures and fosters a safe work environment.
11. Strictly adheres to proper Lockout/Tagout and Confined space procedures in all required situations.
12. Adheres to GMP, operational policies and procedures & ensures that contractors in area follow same.
13. Adheres to plant attendance policies.
14. Completes assigned work orders on a timely basis, including scheduled, emergency and preventative maintenance work orders. Enters required data into the Nestlé CMMS program completely and accurately. Recommends changes to PM program to improve productivity.
15. Document any modifications made to systems i.e. wiring, programming, mechanical changes, etc.
16. Strives for a low level of downtime on equipment/systems in area of responsibility.
17. Solves repetitive problems in area of responsibility and ensures implementation and documentation. Works with Maintenance Team leaders and Engineer to solve particularly challenging problems.
18. Anticipates problems and takes appropriate action prior to a loss/downtime of facility/production equipment and systems. Follows-up to eliminate repetitive downtime.
19. Assist in the organization and coordination of on-going training programs to increase departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
20. Actively monitors the preventative maintenance program to ensure that it is fully implemented and that all inspections and repairs are carried out on time.
21. Capable of working with little or no supervision.
22. Team members shall understand and follow factory management systems for human safety, food safety and/or environmental management. Understand and actively work toward achieving management system targets and objectives.
23. Team members shall follow the plant rules, procedures, and/or practices related to management systems. Team members will report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the appropriate management system on all related procedures and programs.

Requirements
Education
* High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience
* General knowledge and experience in power transmission, pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics etc. as applicable in manufacturing and packaging equipment.
* Working knowledge of common maintenance tools
Skills
* Must have good general mechanical and troubleshooting skills, good general maintenance knowledge and familiar with manufacturing equipment and systems and operation.
* Must have basic electrical skills to include troubleshooting of motors and electrical control circuits on production and packaging equipment. Must be able to read electrical drawings and schematics for basic electrical circuits.
* Must have knowledge of Food Production Equipment.
* Demonstrates knowledge of Nestlé Lockout / Tagout and Confined Space Policy.
* Must have knowledge of the Nestlé CDM Program and works within the Program guidelines.
* Must be able to use computer keyboard to enter various data into Nestlé CMMS program.
* Must have ability to operate simple Machine Tools
* Able to complete the Mechanical NOCTI test and pass at 68 or higher for all external candidates to start at this level. All internal candidates will be accessed through internal evaluations.
