NetSuite company history timeline

1999

NetSuite started back in 1999 as NetLedger, and was originally focused on book keeping, then on accounting.

2000

Jim McGeever was brought on early in 2000 as the CFO to help with finances and growth.

2002

In July 2002, Zach Nelson was appointed CEO. Prior to joining NetSuite, Nelson ran an early provider of business applications over the Internet called MyCIO.com, a division of McAfee Corp.

2003

Year 2003 Onward , few more functionalities say CRM, Inventory Management etc were added & name was modified to NetSuite

2007

Netsuite filed its S-1 on July 2, 2007. Its shares started trading on December 20, 2007.

NetSuite became a publicly traded company after its initial public offering (IPO) of 6.2 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange in December 2007.

2008

Open Air, a web-based timesheets and expense reports platform, was acquired in 2008.

2009

In 2009, QuickArrow, a web-based professional services automation application was acquired.

2013

NetSuite ERP made to PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice in 2013.

In 2013, TribeHr (Human Resource for small and medium-sized businesses), LightCMS (Content Management Software), and Retail Anywhere (An e-commerce retail solution) were acquired.

They also purchased TribeHR, in 2013, in order to provide a complete human resources and people management solution.

2014

In June 2014, Forbes magazine listed NetSuite among the Most Innovative Growth Companies.

2014 followed with the acquisition of another e-commerce software- Venda; and advanced warehouse management solution- eBizNET solutions.

2015

Bronto Software – Email Service Provider, was acquired in the year 2015.

2017

NetSuite is the fastest growing cloud ERP system as of May 2017.

2018

Jim and Evan still work for the NetSuite division of Oracle as of 2018.
