The candidate will support computational approaches to world class biological research enabling our understanding of the diverse mechanisms of life and their impact on human health. Responsibilities include installation and testing of cutting-edge software and management of the scientific computational cluster in coordination with the Stowers IT sysadmin group. Experience with scheduled cluster computing is required.
Successful candidates will also have strong communication skills including the ability to assist graduate students and post-docs from multidisciplinary life sciences backgrounds.
Experience with the following applications is required:
Linux/Bash scripting skills
Cluster computing scheduling and administration (preferably via slurm)
Software container creation/troubleshooting (preferably with singularity)

Qualifications:

About the Role
Under direction of the CHRO, the HRIS Administrator plans, implements, directs, coordinates, and manages projects and activities of major significance to the development and delivery of city programs and services, including the setup, configuration, development and maintenance of all HRIS-related data, complex reporting, and integrity of employee information; and performs other related duties as assigned. At times this position will supervise HRIS staff on specific tasks or projects.
The HRIS Administrator is an experienced, skilled systems administrator who manages, leads, and defines HR systems implementation, configuration, security, reporting, support, and data management, in support of HR activities, policies and practices.
Daily physical on-site presence in the office, consistent attendance, and reliable punctuality are essential functions of this position. Any changes or adjustments to your assigned work schedule or shift hours must be approved by your supervisor in advance. This position has core business hours and days, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with a one hour scheduled lunch.
Responsibilities:
Leads HCM projects, including strategy, implementation support, and system optimization related to City operations, business processes, security, and data integrity for HRIS applications; performs functional testing on all aspects of enhancements, modifications, new processes, and related HR system changes.
Plans, designs, develops, tests, deploys, delivers, and maintains HRIS integrations, apps, dashboards and reporting across all modules, including but not limited to HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Learning and Development, Time Tracking and Recruitment.
Leads with collaborations of IT release implementations, identifying enhancement opportunities and impacts associated with new release features/functionality; updates, manages and directs the roadmap for all updates and initiatives.
Designs, implements, and maintains HRIS systems security access policies, processes, and procedures for restricted and non-restricted user access; creates and maintains related documentation.
Investigates and resolves complex system-related issues and quickly escalates to management upline to ensure efficient resolution; effectively manages staff and resources in support of project cost containment.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the UKG platform, including as the HRIS technical specialist to build relationships with key business users and third-party vendors as needed to ensure that the services and solutions provided meet current and future business needs.
Provides experienced technical input in the selection of optional features by staying engaged on HRIS Community to understand current trends and upcoming feature updates.
Analyzes and audits data to ensure accuracy and to manage issues to resolution; makes direct updates where applicable.
Troubleshoots and updates all HRIS modules; configures and makes changes in HRIS Tenant to improve user experience and/or satisfy business requirements.
Gathers business requirements from stakeholders and represents the HR team in design and modification efforts in collaboration with internal IT staff.
Creates and maintains documentation of HRIS business processes and workflows and ensures they are up to date.
Performs and oversees the performance of full HRIS platform or tenants, including integrations, EIBs and custom object development.
Designs, documents, implements, and monitors ad hoc and ongoing reports in HR systems to ensure they accurately reflect internal business requirements and capture required data for City business needs.
Facilitates sessions for education and training; creates and oversees the creation of job aids, training videos and other resources in alignment with effective change management practices.
Trains and assist HRIS-Payroll for in person end-user assist level- one concerns.
Manages inter divisional teams, and complex projects and studies; participates on and coordinates committees and task forces.
Develops and revises policies and procedures.
Acts in the absence of the CHRO as required
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & SPECIAL LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field of study; Masters preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of professional level systems experience, including at least three (3) years of experience HCM, preferrable UKG, Payroll, Benefits, L&D and Recruiting modules.
Required Skills

Expert Excel level experience required (i.e. V-look up).
Good listening skills.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network infrastructure capacity and capabilities meet existing and future requirements.
Develop, implement, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, and associated training plans for the network infrastructure design, security, and administration. Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and other relevant industry best practices.
Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with bank and IT senior management. Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all network infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
In conjunction with the Manager of IT Service Support, establish service level agreements with business units for customer and employee-facing IT services.
Procurement & Implementation
Prepare RFPs and contracts, scope of work reports, and implementation project and support documentation for network infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure appropriate network equipment and service support.
Plan and deploy appropriate network security measures in conjunction with the Chief Information Security Officer and team. Ensure that all network infrastructure meets the appropriate security best practices and policies.
Operational Management
Lead and develop the network team's talent and expertise to strengthen the support levels provided by the team.
Lead and deploy appropriate network equipment to support the conference room technology and strategy.
Lead continual network assessments to ensure appropriate the appropriate bandwidth and latency can support critical bank applications.
Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all network infrastructure systems.
Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
Establish standards for training and education regarding the network infrastructure equipment in place within the environment.
Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.
Test and monitor the network performance and provide quantitative performance statistics, KPI measurements, and reports to demonstrate operational effectiveness, compliance with standards and objectives, and to manage capacity.
Manage operational costs and conduct near and long-term financial capital and expense forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent to the network infrastructure activities.
Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.

As a Lead Network Engineer in Bright speed's Network Architecture Lab, you will assume ownership and responsibility for Access, Metro Ethernet, CPE, Fiber Voice and/or Transport technologies and equipment testing. As a Lead Engineer within Network Architecture you will be tasked with drafting and conducting hardware (and software) certification testing for Brightspeed deployed devices and applications.
This role requires a high degree of advanced technical, analytical, and leadership competency to evaluate and test new technologies, resolve complex network issues, and provide expert technical guidance and support across multiple Brightspeed organizations.
As a Lead Network Test Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Design, execute, and document test activities for network equipment, services, and applications deployed within the Brightspeed production network.
Participate in the evaluation, certification, and approval of new features and products through formalized testing prior to production deployment.
Participate in operational assessments of First Office Applications (FOA).
Perform high-level analysis to identify and resolve unique, complex, or chronic issues across Metro Ethernet, Access, Voice, Transport, and CPE networks.
Provide technical leadership and direction in the resolution of defects related to peripheral network elements, applications, and situations involving malfunction, degradation, or service failure.
Serve as a subject matter expert in hardware, software, and database operations across multiple telecom network platforms, including XGS-PON, Fiber Voice, Metro Ethernet, and Transport.
Act as a subject matter expert in at least one deployed Brightspeed technology domain: Transport, Metro Ethernet, Network Access, or Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
Review software release documentation prior to platform upgrades; participate in supplier and/or Brightspeed lab regression testing; and lead successful software upgrade deployments across network elements and platforms.
Engage directly with manufacturer and supplier technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform or application failure conditions.
Collaborate closely with Network Architects to define test requirements, resolve defects, and address operational solution gaps.
Engage with manufacturers, suppliers, industry partners, and standards organizations to identify and evaluate new products and technologies for deployment within the Brightspeed network.
Maintain a consistent on-site presence at the Brightspeed Lab as required to support testing projects and daily work activities.

Qualifications
