This role is responsible for advanced support, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's technology infrastructure. The Senior IT Technician ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems critical to clinical and administrative operations, while providing mentorship and technical leadership within the department. Key Responsibilities Advanced Technical Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex hardware, software, and network issues affecting clinical and administrative staff. System Administration: Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, network devices, and peripheral equipment. Network Management: Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and VPNs, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity. Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, monitor for threats, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations. Project Leadership: Lead or participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments. Performance Monitoring: Analyze system and network performance, recommend improvements, and proactively address potential issues. Disaster Recovery: Develop, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems. Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and implementation of IT solutions. Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support Shenandoah Community Health's mission and technology needs. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT support or system/network administration, preferably in healthcare or regulated environments. Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, enterprise networking, and cybersecurity best practices. Experience with Microsoft, Meraki, or similar enterprise environments. Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HITECH). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) preferred. Work Environment Based at Shenandoah Community Health's facilities in Martinsburg, WV, with occasional travel to satellite locations as needed.
