Job Description
Due to the rapid growth of our IT Services group, we're adding a Network Support Specialist to our team. We work with a variety of small to mid-sized organizations throughout Western NY and PA, including municipalities, libraries, and those in the hospitality and construction industries just to name a few. In this position, the Network Support Specialist will handle third-tier support of service requests from our clients.
Essential Functions:
IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systems.
Support virtual environments using VMware and Hyper-V
Support of disaster recovery solutions.
Technical support at the network level: LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, Server Operating Systems, and security.
Qualifications
2 or 4-year degree - OR - relevant experience in IT support field
2 years of IT support or related technical experience
Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, cloud products, and network systems
Understand basics of Microsoft Active Directory
Have a working knowledge of NTF permissions, file sharing, and IPV4 subnetting
Understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Office 365 deployment
In-depth understanding of desktop operating systems Windows 7 and 10
