The team
Our Cyber Defense & Resilience offering assists clients in defending against advanced threats by transforming security operations, monitoring technology, data analytics, and threat intelligence. Helps manage and protect dynamic attack surfaces and provides rapid crisis and cyber incident response, ensuring clients can be ready for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions.
Work You'll Do
* Lead the design and deployment of Next-Generation SOC platforms, like Cortex XSIAM, including advanced detection rules and SOAR playbooks, and SIEM ingestion.
* Integrate diverse log and telemetry sources, ensuring data quality and normalization.
* Develop and optimize automated response workflows for incident containment and remediation.

Required Qualifications

* 3-4 years of experience with Security Operations tools and platforms including Cortex XSIAM, Cortex XDR, Splunk, or similar SIEM technologies
* 3-4 years of Security Operations Center experience demonstrating expertise in detection engineering, automation and playbook development, or SOC maturity methodologies
* 3-4 years of experience with one or more cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and native security tools
* 3-4 years of experience with management of log sources, data normalization, ingestion and manipulation of data
* 3-4 years of experience working with detection and response platforms (EDR) like Microsoft Defender, Cortex XDR, CrowdStrike
* 3-4 years of experience with governance, risk, or compliance initiatives involving common frameworks

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
* This position works as part of the team that provides the management and operation for the physical layer of the Kalamazoo Valley network at all campuses; Texas Township Campus, The Groves, Arcadia Commons Campus, and Bronson Healthy Living Campus. This includes the network core, distribution and edge switches, virtual servers, recording servers, wireless access points, storage area network and phone systems. Manage the intercampus communications and connection to the Internet by working with communication vendors who supply Kalamazoo Valley's connectivity. Manage the backup of all Kalamazoo Valley operational data including offsite storage, cloud services and disaster recovery.
* Manage IT security for Kalamazoo Valley including firewalls, Intrusion Protection, AntiVirus, Spam Filtering, ACLs, and VPN connections. Responsible for account creation and management. Apply required server patches and firmware updates. Work with college departments to ensure HIPAA, FERPA, PCI and Federal Financial Aid compliances are achieved.
* Provide support for Public Safety that includes connection to Law Enforcement Information Network, fingerprinting system, eCitation for patrol car laptops, wireless in-car dash cam recording cameras. Install and maintain the video surveillance system cameras and recording servers at all Kalamazoo Valley sites.
* Manage the college telecommunications systems including a centralized phone switch at Texas Township Campus with 3 remote shelf systems located at Anna Whitten Hall, The Groves and the Culinary and Allied Health building. Manage the voicemail, automated call distribution and extension creation for all Kalamazoo Valley sites. Manage the call reporting software. Work with Kalamazoo Valley Department of Public Safety to maintain security phones and elevator phone devices.
* Support the administrative systems and applications - Banner, DegreeWorks, AdAstra, Mainsaver, Talisma, Document Imaging, Bookstore and Johnson Controls. Provide new employee orientations. Respond to helpdesk requests for students, faculty and staff. Participate in new student orientations.
