Minimum of 5 years of experience in Internet Service operations with a core focus on core network routing operations. Strong understanding of telecommunications networking for PSTN functionality and Tandem networking as it pertains to providing telephone services including end user protocols such as sip, rtp, etc. Deep knowledge and understanding of Cable Television networking and service delivery principles. The network engineering and operations supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the organization's network systems including software and hardware. Recommends, implements, and maintains network architecture (LAN and WAN). Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the function of the network and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support that function.
Proven understanding of TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols, proficient in routing and switching provision to include VLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS and DHCP required. Strong understanding of IPV4 and IPV6 addressing and routing concepts including route leaking and carrier grade NAT with an emphasis on furthering the adoption and integration of IPv6 in all network elements and systems. Strong functional understanding of MAC addressing and device authentication principles and an emphasis on device hardening and industry standard security practices. Proficient in flow spec and net flow data analysis and managing DDOS mitigation tools and systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Elevate, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta-Montrose Electric Association, reserves the right to change or modify the duties and essential functions of this position at any time.
In an efficient and professional manner, and in accordance with applicable labor agreements and the DMEA/Elevate Accident Prevention Manual:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the service delivery network, core routing environments, and subscriber authentication processes as are required to provide Internet, data, voice, and video services to subscribers, as well as back-office networking required for administrative support.
- Manages day-to-day authentication of users as well as security of networks and servers including operating systems and applications in coordination with DMEA's network and security team.
- Designs and implements network connectivity for LAN and WAN connections, including documentation of network connections.
- Creates, maintains, and automates tasks using code languages such as python, shell, macros, etc.
- Receives and evaluates requests for additional network applications and makes recommendations on required hardware and software to assist in determining if these requests will meet the user's needs and function in coordination with our existing hardware and software.
- Manages the subscriber support team to enable subscribers to access the network successfully.
- Leads with a customer-focused attitude such to deliver customer satisfaction for all technical experiences with subscribed services.
