This role is for an Infrastructure & Network Engineer who wants to design, modernize, and protect the systems that keep a global manufacturing organization running. You won't just "keep the lights on"-you will lead enterprise-wide infrastructure upgrades, solve complex networking challenges, and directly enable business continuity, plant performance, and operational efficiency. You will own critical infrastructure across corporate offices, manufacturing plants, high‐availability data centers, and global networks, working at the intersection of IT engineering, business needs, and industrial operations. What Success Looks Like You will be successful in this role by consistently delivering stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure while driving measurable business outcomes: Deliver enterprise infrastructure projects on time and on budget, from design through implementation. Increase reliability and uptime across global LAN, WAN, wireless, voice, and data center environments. Reduce incident frequency and resolution time through proactive monitoring, root-cause analysis, and documentation. Enable secure manufacturing operations by supporting plant floor networking, IP devices, and industrial systems. Modernize legacy infrastructure through thoughtful adoption of new networking, security, and voice technologies. Be trusted as a technical authority and problem solver by both IT and business stakeholders. How You'll Drive Impact Enterprise Infrastructure & Project Delivery (≈50%) Lead and support enterprise-wide network and infrastructure projects across corporate and plant environments. Partner with business leaders and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Assess current-state environments and design upgrades that improve performance, security, and resiliency. Provide cost-benefit analysis and technical recommendations for new initiatives. Ensure projects meet architectural standards, budget expectations, and delivery timelines. Operations, Support & Optimization (≈50%) Own troubleshooting and resolution of complex network, voice, wireless, and IP-based infrastructure issues. Administer and maintain LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, data centers, phone systems, and IP device networks. Perform proactive assessments, documentation, and continuous improvement activities. Support a diverse manufacturing environment, adapting solutions to plant floor and industrial constraints. Contribute to enterprise standards, best practices, and long-term infrastructure roadmaps. What You Bring Experience & Credentials Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network and IP-based solutions. Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Aruba, or Fortinet, or equivalent experience (voice or camera certifications a plus), with a willingness to expand across all domains. You'll assist in capacity planning, preventive maintenance, and load balancing across power and cooling zones to maintain safe, efficient, and redundant operations. Lead incident response and root-cause analysis, refine standard operating procedures, and implement automation to improve efficiency and consistency across company data centers worldwide. Required Skills 10+ years in data center compute operations, facilities, or infrastructure engineering and/or a degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline. Hands-on experience with servers, networking, and structured cabling. Working knowledge of electrical systems including transformers, PDUs, UPS, switchgear, and generators. Understanding of cooling systems including CRAC/CRAH units, CDUs, cooling towers, chillers, and containment environments. As a Journeyman Network Operations Engineer (Tier 2), you will provide mid-level operational support for enterprise network systems. This position serves as the key escalation between Tier 1 personnel and senior engineering staff, ensuring troubleshooting, incident resolution, and system performance within mission-critical environments. This role supports the maintenance, configuration, and monitoring of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies as part of a broader modernization effort. The Journeyman Network Operations Engineer (Tier 2) plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of operations, implementing approved changes, and maintaining compliance with DoD standards and operational procedures. Position will be located at Buckley SFB. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. #clearance Responsibilities Major Job Activities: + Multi-disciplined network engineer with experience maintaining and fixing wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems. + Provides touch labor for all network devices. + Oversee monitoring of network assets per SLAs. + Performs break / fix and maintenance activities. + Monitors network dashboards, analyzing problems, troubleshooting escalated incidents, coordinating, and reporting all operational information concerning the enterprise network infrastructure. + Provides subject matter expertise for LAN, WAN, firewalls, and other network technologies. + Investigates and diagnoses incidents to restore failed network services as quickly as possible. + Leads root cause analysis and suggests resolutions for network infrastructure problems. + Installs and supports remote access platforms such as VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix. + Has a fundamental understanding of network engineering concepts and adapts to emerging technologies as they are introduced to the environment. + Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP. + Experience with Cisco command line interface and configuration. Troubleshoots complex problems to closure. + Assesses and implements Change Requests as needed in accordance with the Change Management process. + Hands-on technical position that provides Tier 2 technical expertise. + Performs site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services for the customer as they relate to all network services. + Experience working with wireless technologies, VPNs, IPSs, WAN Accelerators, and associated technologies. Material & Equipment Directly Used: General user capabilities of Microsoft software applications required (primarily Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and Microsoft Teams or SharePoint). Clearance Requirement: + This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance.
