Position Summary: The Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer is a key role within the Services Department. The position has three primary responsibilities. The first responsibility is for the technical management of network and infrastructure projects, directly assigned, for their clients. An additional primary responsibility is to provide technical Level 4 escalation support for all Service Desk (MSP) incidents, as well as Professional Service clients. The final primary responsibility will be to act as the senior technical approver on all Professional Scopes of Work (SOW). Responsibilities: Technical Project Management (May Include Travel) Oversee and manage assigned projects to ensure proper implementation and configuration, leading to successful project completion. Constant internal and external communication is required to inform all necessary parties of the project status. Documentation Create effective documentation (customer-facing and internal) for assigned projects to provide necessary information to clients and relevant staff Timely and accurate submission of time sheets, PTO forms, and expense reports. Ensure proper association of billable and non-billable time. Note: All documentation must occur within their designated internal applications and tools. Professional SOW Architecture & Design Work with senior staff to create, review, and approve the architecture, design, staging, task list, etc., for all networking and infrastructure projects to ensure they are accurately and thoroughly scoped. This may include properly sizing hardware or software needs. Level 4 Technical Escalation Support Provide L4 technical escalation support for the Professional & Service Desk team in remediating project and ticket issues. Development Environment Management Responsible for the overall architecture, design, implementation, and management of the Dev Environment as directed by the VP of IT Services. Pre-Sales Client Meetings (May Include Travel) Perform remote and on-site client visits, primarily during project implementation but possibly beforehand to ensure proper scoping. May also be asked to attend conferences or tradeshows. Internal IT This role will be responsible for the oversight of internal IT functionality, projects, and directives as guided by the VP of IT Services. Training & Certifications This will include studying, completing, and maintaining any required vendor certifications or training needed to benefit the Services Department Qualifications: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in infrastructure and networking. Overseeing infrastructure upgrade projects, including server, storage, virtualization, and hyper-converged systems. Leading Microsoft cloud and productivity projects, including Office 365 migrations (cutover, hybrid, SharePoint/OneDrive), Azure deployments, and VoIP implementations. Supporting managed IT services operations, including IT management, help desk environments, SECaaS, and outsourced IT delivery. Managing networking and security initiatives such as firewall deployments (WatchGuard preferred), wireless configuration, MFA, and Microsoft 365 security. Knowledge of industry-leading hardware and equipment products (Dell, Lenovo, HP, Cisco, etc.). Experience working with Microsoft server operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. Experience working with Microsoft Teams and email. Possesses a mentorship mindset and an ability to guide, train, and share knowledge with other engineers. Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills, combined with excellent time management and organizational abilities. The Staff Systems Engineer will lead the engineering integration and core engineering teams through the development process in defining system interactions and requirements. Core responsibilities include the identification of system hardware and software components and evaluating inputs/outputs for sufficient performance of design as specified by the product requirements. The Staff Systems Engineer Understands product application in the market and drives design architectures and product requirements to be compliant for the end application. Projects supported reside within Generac's Commercial and industrial Business Unit including data center generators, medium & high voltage applications, and power management solutions based on business priorities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or other related engineering degree. 10+ years related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's in a STEM major (Engineering / Systems Engineering). Experience in electrical power schemes especially for medium voltage applications and utility connected sites (1kV to 15kV) Experience with power solutions for medium voltage power generation sites (data centers, healthcare facilities, large manufacturing operations) in range of 500kW to 5 MW including generator paralleling and synchronizing Experience with systems engineering and/or requirements management in a product development environment (e.g. the V model). Demonstrated Expertise in Systems Engineering or relevant discipline and strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to operate and deliver in a matrixed organization. Ability to create system architecture documents including schematic/interconnect diagrams . Understanding of Cross Functional perspectives and ability to influence and deliver results. Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization. Able to energize and inspire teams to achieve technical requirements. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously while balancing resources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Essential Duties Capture both internal and external customer needs and system level requirements by brainstorming with Core Engineering, Business Partners, Product Owners and Product Managers as required. Execute development projects that deliver products in compliance with regulatory standards for the end applications they are deployed in. Manage product and system requirements, specifications and flow down. Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including component, subsystem and full system testing. Work across engineering functions in defining systems strategy and coordinating technical reviews. Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas. Define systems test strategy and perform hands on product integration activities. Create and maintain Statements of Requirements (SOR), block diagrams and systems inputs/outputs. Support product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs). Interface with internal company personnel and provide technical support for assigned projects. Create, design, and develop test specifications for new systems. Occasional travel to other Generac facilities and customer sites. Proactively train, coach, and mentor less experienced Engineers. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to translate technical information to all audiences. Expert level understanding and knowledge of engineering principles. Advanced knowledge of communication protocols/hardware interface. This position works with minimal guidance from the engineering leader. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
