The System Analyst - Communications and Networks will:
Collaborate within project teams to provide network solutions for engineering projects. Collaborate with project teams in the planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment. Collaborate with internal and government stakeholders to assure system designs comply with requirements/best practices. Apply methods and techniques to assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of architecture change recommendations and CONOPS change recommendations. Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. Valid U.S. Driver's License required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree: Candidates with 12+ years of relevant work experience will be considered. Experience designing and implementing network infrastructures in secure environments. Knowledge of Internet Protocols, communication protocols, data and network security. Experience working with design principles and applications. Ability to travel 10%. Flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.


DESIRED:
System and network device scripting experience, preferred Automated device configuration tools experience, preferred Network + certification preferred


WORK LOCATION:
This position is located onsite; telecommuting could be possible after initial training period.


BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

Who are you?

  • Trusted Employee: The Government trusts you and so do we. You possess an active Top Secret Clearance. You must also be able to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suitability.
  • Technology Expert: You have advanced knowledge of standard protocols, such as Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/S), Domain Network System (DNS), Secure Shell (SSH), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Server Message Block (SMB), Network File System (NFS), and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is dedicated to responding to cyber incidents and hunting proactively for malicious cyber activity. The DHS centers its resources around securing the nation's infrastructure, and Fusion Technology aims to support this mission by providing advanced technical assistance, proactive hunting, and rapid onsite incident response utilizing host and network-based cybersecurity analysis capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Assists the government lead in coordinating teams in preliminary incident response investigations
  • Assist the government lead with interfacing with the customer while on site
  • Determines appropriate courses of actions in response to identified and analyses anomalous network activity
  • Assesses network topology and device configurations identifying critical security concerns and providing security best practice recommendations
  • Assists with the writing and publishing of Computer Network Defense guidance and reports on incident findings to appropriate constituencies
