Job Details
This is a 1099 Contract position. Call volume varies but is typically between 2-5 calls per day. Pay is based on the number of calls completed. Pay starts at $35 per ticket.
You will be completing hardware part replacements for Dell and Lenovo warranty services.
Pay period -every Friday after the first week of completing tickets.
You must have a reliable form of transportation to run these calls.
You must have access to a computer and the internet to log onto your portal.
Tickets are run Monday through Friday. You must be able to log into your tech portal every workday by 9 am to accept, code (update status), and map out your calls.
You will be responsible for contacting your customers and confirming a window to go onsite to complete the service.
Parts will be provided for you by the manufacturers. They are typically held at FedEx for you to pick up in the morning. You will be provided with shipping labels and materials to return the removed parts.

Class "A" Technical School - Pensacola, FL (18-26 weeks) Covers aviation theory, electrical systems, electronics theory, and technical skills. What part will you play? What will you be doing?
Exercising advanced technical skill level abilities to perform routine maintenance of advanced ESS related systems - including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and break/fix repair of faulty systems and equipment.

Oversight for planning and implementation of process improvement principles required to maintain ESS technologies in critical areas.

Conduct safe and correct diagnosis of faults - including removal, repair, tests, implementation, and operation of all aspects of ESS technologies. Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of ESS systems.
Participate in and drive continuous improvement activities across ESS technologies and collaborate with client to improve/evolve technology solutions. Aid users in accessing, using, and diagnosing ESS systems.
Track, update, and report on ESS ticket issues and support requests - showing progress as reported issues transfer from initial reporting date/time through final resolution date/time. Provide regular reporting of current and historical analytical data to meet measured client metrics.
Interface with client executive and "C" level personnel in a highly professional manner.

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a highly motivated Electromechanical Technologist to join our team. Our department focuses on embedded electronics, electrical and RF technologies for a wide variety of national security missions in the Transportation Safety and Security Programs (TSSP). The selected candidate will have demonstrated the ability to learn and grow in a dynamic team environment.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
* Build, modify, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and optical devices, instruments, systems, or processes.
* Provide general lab support.
* Maintain responsibilities in more than one functional area, including electronics, cable/harness assembly, laser/fiber optical devices, instrumentation, and laboratory operations.
* Monitor experiments and make and record observations to support the design and development of novel technologies.
* Coordinate equipment calibration, conduct technical experimentation, document efforts, and provide inputs to scientific and engineering reports and publications.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range
$62,400 - $120,400

About Our Team
The Communications and Electrical Systems Technology Department is responsible for the development and integration of command, control, and communication technologies used in specialized transportation security systems. The department conducts research and development activities in the areas of high consequence software systems, custom embedded circuit design, wireless network communications, intelligent power conditioning and distribution, navigation systems, and sensors. Major programs supported by the department include the Safeguards Transporter (SGT), development of a new high security system called the Mobile Guardian Transporter (MGT) and an advanced concept surety programs called Integrated Surety Architectures (ISA). Robust security protection for transportation systems face many unique challenges, and requires exhaustive investigation and analysis of sophisticated system attacks and the associated development of countermeasures to defend and protect against such attacks. The use of modeling and simulation tools assists in the investigation, exploration, and development of new design approaches, algorithms, and design of experiments to validate system capabilities.

Security Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
