To achieve these aims, we support a cutting-edge high-performance computing and data ecosystem along with MD/PhD-level support for researchers. The group is composed of a high-performance computing team, the research clinical data warehouse team and a research data services team.
The Senior HPC Administrator, High Performance Computational and Data Ecosystem, is responsible for a computational and data science ecosystem for researchers at Mount Sinai. This ecosystem includes high-performance computing (HPC) systems, clinical research databases, and a software development infrastructure for local and national projects. To meet Sinai's scientific and clinical goals, the Senior Administrator has a good technical understanding for computational, data and software development systems along with a strong focus on customer service for researchers. The HPC Senior Administrator is an expert troubleshooter and productive team member and leads projects to effective and efficient completion independently under little to no supervision. This position reports to the Director for Computational & Data Ecosystem in Scientific Computing. Specific responsibilities are listed below.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy and maintain Scientific Computing's computational and data science ecosystem including ~30,000 cores with high bandwidth, low latency interconnects, GPUs, large shared memory nodes, databases, scientific workflows and 30+ petabytes of storage in production, clinical data warehouse and software development environment.
Lead the troubleshooting, isolation and resolution of all technical issues including application, system, hardware, software, and network). Actively monitors the systems.
Maintains, tunes and manages computational, data, cloud technologies and workflow systems for ISMMS researchers, scientists and their external collaborators. Defines and deploys a comprehensive computational and data vision. Identifies and communicates system advantages/disadvantages and tradeoffs.
Designs, develops, implements system administration tasks, including hardware and software configuration, configuration management, system monitoring (including the development and maintenance of regression tests), usage reporting, system performance (file systems, scheduler, interconnect, high availability, etc.), security, networking and metrics, etc.
Collaborates effectively with research and hospital system IT, compliance, HIPAA, security and other departments to ensure compliance with all regulations and Sinai policies.
Participates in the integration of HPC resources with laboratory equipment such as sequencers, clinical and research data resources and systems, etc. Incorporate and link data and compute resources.
Researches, deploys and optimizes resource management and scheduling software and policies and actively monitoring. Designs, tunes, manages and upgrades parallel file systems, storage and data-oriented resources.
Researches, deploys and manages security infrastructure, including development of policies and procedures.
Maintain all necessary aspects of HPC in accordance with best practices. Develops and implements backup policies.
Prepares and manages budgets for hardware, software and maintenance. Participates in chargeback/fee recovery analysis and provides suggestions to make operations sustainable.
Assists in developing and writing system design for research proposals. Creates and provides clear documentation.
Works effectively and productively with other team members within the group and across Mount Sinai.
Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Provides after hours support for critical system and production issues.
Answers and resolves user tickets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or another scientific field. Master's or PhD preferred
8+ years (higher preferred) of progressive HPC system administration and operations (preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux administration, Batch HPC cluster environment)
Must be an expert troubleshooter; Must be a team player and customer focused
Experience with job scheduler such as LSF or Slurm and parallel file systems and storage
Experience with networking and security
Experience with configuration management systems such as xCAT, Puppet and/or Ansible
Experience of databases and web services
Experience in Infiniband, Gigabit Ethernet

How You'll Contribute:
Under general supervision, the Field Engineer will commission AV systems at client sites to provide the optimal performance according to the scope and design intent. Responsible for drawing redlines, network coordination, and communication with the project team.

Commission AV systems at client sites by optimizing settings in the equipment to ensure the system is operating as designed according to scope and drawings, documenting any changes via redlines returned to the PM and DE, and completing the project quality checklist.

Contributes lessons learned feedback to the install, design, and pre-sales engineering teams to constantly improve system designs, product selection, and implementation.
Archive configuration and programming files with appropriate labeling to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the service team.

Physical Requirements:

The Network & Counterparty Relationship Management (NCRM) group is responsible for managing Brown Brothers Harriman's network of subcustodian and correspondent bank relationships for cash and securities in over 90 markets and providing value to both external and internal clients through market expertise and delivery of market information. The group is comprised of separate Bank Relationship Management, Market Information/Client Consultancy and Risk & Compliance pillars. The group is located globally, in Boston, New York, London and Hong Kong.
As a Network RM Analyst II, you will be responsible for the management and oversight of the global provider of relationships within BBH's network of subcustodian and cash clearing banks. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the on-going oversight of our banks. This includes conducting regular due reviews (documentation review, bank calls and visits), maintaining appropriate AML/KYC files, communicating and ensuring delivery of detailed service level requirements, and acting as an escalation point for any issues arising with our bank relationships. You will work closely with internal subject matter experts including Service Delivery, Legal, Compliance, Credit, and Risk.
As the relationship owner, you will be expected to have a deep knowledge of the banks, the servicing relationships (including a strong understanding of local market operation and regulation as they relate to the services being provided), as well as BBH and client requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
* Act as a primary relationship contact for subcustodians/cash clearing banks and treasury counterparties.
* Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
* Conduct regular and ongoing monitoring of subcustodian/cash clearing banks (agent banks).
* Ensure all required annual due diligence deliverables are completed and documented, including annual documentation requirements, due diligence calls and/or visits, service level follow ups, etc.
* Negotiate competitive arrangements including legal documentation and service levels with agent banks to extract value from services rendered by BBH's agent banks. Prepare meeting agendas and contribute to relationship profiles.
* Execute on NCRM bank strategy through the issuance of RFPs, participation in conversions and the assessment and comparison of BBH's agent banks.
* Establish timeline for the year for execution of RFPs. Administer RFP and analyze results
* Assess, understand and communicate to the NCRM Management team any changes in agent bank's strategy, structure or model as well as market changes that may impact the services we receive from the agent banks.
* Coordinate with internal BBH departments, to ensure quality service levels and the timely resolution of issues and inquiries.
* Facilitate support of new markets/new products through the use of our agent bank network.
* Coordinate with other business lines to identify solutions that best serve client and firm needs.
* Identify, arrange and host meetings with representatives from visiting agent banks.
* Ensure that all required annual due diligence deliverables are completed and documented, including annual documentation requirements, due diligence calls and/or visits, service level follow ups, etc.
* As part of the annual due diligence process, understand and communicate to Network Management Team any changes to bank strategy, structure, model as well as any market changes that may impact the services we receive from the banks as well as the drivers behind any new contractual documentation requests.
* Through on-going dialogue with the banks, monitor global market developments and understand the impact to BBH, our agent bank network and our clients.
* Work closely with internal subject matter experts to ensure that our banks meet our requirements.
* Respond to both internal and external client needs, by leveraging our agent bank network and local market expertise including: knowledge of securities markets, local foreign exchange markets, cash clearing regulations and payment systems.
* Follow NCRM procedures when executing on daily deliverables.
* Participate in industry forums as applicable.
* Support internal working groups by identifying how market developments impact BBH and our clients. Seek out stretch assignments and support peers doing the same.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in finance or related discipline required.
* 5+ years of relevant custody and Network experience.
* Experience in the financial services industry with strong operational understanding of the custody business.
* Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
* Knowledge of securities markets, foreign exchange, cash clearing, and capital market regulatory considerations pertaining to foreign investment activities.
* Knowledge of the external competitive environment for the industry.
* Willingness to conduct overseas travel as part of due-diligence process.
Salary Range
MA: $80,000 - $120,000 base salary + annual bonus target
NY: $90,000 - $120,000 base salary + annual bonus target
