Qualifications

SUMMARY
This position is a Network Operations Technician II position working with the Network Operations department. This role will primarily be responsible for installation, decommissioning, and troubleshooting problems of network equipment and circuits. This includes fiber, transport equipment, and all critical infrastructures within. This technician will also work directly with the engineering staff, doing a variety of tasks related to network operations, projects, and maintenance, including circuit provisioning, maintenance & testing (DS1, DS3, SONET, DWDM), test equipment, telecommunications equipment installation, and acceptance.
POSITION SCHEDULE AND ONSITE REQUIREMENTS
This is a direct-hire, full-time, on-site position located at either our Chapel Hill, TN, Murfreesboro, TN, or Franklin, TN, location. The schedule for this role is Tuesday through Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, after the initial 90-day training period.
During the 90-day training period, the position will report to our Chapel Hill, TN location, and the schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs customer and network troubles.
Removes and replaces defective equipment, tracks spares, and ensures repair.
Provides support to external departments in the assignment and troubleshooting of facilities.
Assists with trouble resolution, including generating packet captures for both network and customer-specific issues.
Provides support in single-mode, multi-mode, fiber optic, and CAT5/6 cabling.

Performs preventive/scheduled maintenance and inspections on equipment and on the critical infrastructure, including, but not limited to, HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC Power Plants
Compiles and maintains records and documentation as needed.
Provides a high level of customer service and assists with installation and troubleshooting for enterprise and large business customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years' experience working with Installation, Test, and Turn-up of a variety of Telecommunications equipment, including, but not limited to, SONET, DWDM, Routers, and Ethernet Switches
CCNA or JNCIA certifications are preferred.
Some technical evaluation and fundamental judgment are required while building an internal and external network.

About The Navys Advanced Electronics / Computer Field (AECF) offers extensive training in electronics, computer systems, radar, communications, and weapons fire control systems, including the Navys advanced missile systems and Aegis radar. These technicians are essential to the ships Combat Systems department, ensuring readiness for combat operations across the fleet.
Responsibilities
As an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC), you may:
Maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment.
Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, mainframe computers, large screen displays, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems used in weapons systems.
Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface ships.
Work Environment
ETs and FCs serve on fleet units worldwide and at shore-based repair facilities. Expect assignments aboard ships, at remote stations, and in technical repair shops. Work is highly technical, requiring precision and teamwork.

Apprentice Technical Training Great Lakes, IL (11 weeks)
FC Strand Great Lakes, IL (16 weeks)
ET Strand Great Lakes, IL (22 weeks) Training covers electronics theory, radar systems, communications suites, missile and gun system ballistics, troubleshooting, and fiber optics. After A School, technicians may attend advanced C Schools. College credits are often available for Navy training.
