Neuberger Berman is seeking an Assistant Fund Controller to join the finance team that is responsible for the financial and investor reporting, treasury and capital management, and performance measurement / analysis for a series of commingled investment funds and separate account mandates, focused on investing in Real Estate Operating Companies and Real Estate Mortgage Loans.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate and support a team of Fund Controllers with all aspects of financial and investor reporting, including performance measurement
Provide assistance and support to the RE Tax Manager, Investor Relations and Legal teams
Provide guidance and mentor junior accountant on the finance team
Prepare quarterly workbooks supporting / analyzing the accounts of the Real Estate Funds, their subsidiary REITs and Blocker Corps, and the up-stream investment and Carried Interest vehicles
Support Treasury operations, including cash liquidity management, wire transfers processing, and recording investment and investor activity in the general ledger system (MRI)
Communicate with Fund Administrator to support the Financial Reporting Process of the Real Estate Mortgage Loan Mandates
Prepare and reconcile Performance Measurement Calculations, including Net / Gross and Levered / Unlevered IRRs, investment multiples and time-weighted returns
Reporting, recording and monitoring of investment activity, including ensuring income calculations and timing are in compliance with underlying Portfolio Company agreements
Preparation of periodic investor supplemental reports, including information related to the funds and their underlying investments
Prepare quarterly financial investor and consultant questionnaires
Working to create process improvements and efficiencies in all areas of responsibilities
Qualifications:
CPA with a bachelor's degree in accounting
4-7 years of experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm (preferred)
Prior experience with Private Equity and / or Real Estate Investment Funds is required
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
Must be a self-starter, dedicated to the success of the organization's goals
Excellent analytical skills, strong planning and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ambitious and able to work well under pressure
Creative, capable of seeing opportunities to improve processes while maintaining or enhancing the control environment

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $110,000-$135,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. **Responsibilities:**
+ Member of the finance team responsible for the accounting and financial reporting oversight for Pre IPO equity and credit funds
+ Oversight of the Fund Administrator responsible for the preparation of the quarterly financial statements, capital account statements, capital calls and distribution notices
+ Oversight and compliance of fund credit facilities by accurately comprehending and interpreting the agreement, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of the assets in the portfolio
+ Review and analyze distribution waterfalls based on fund legal documents
+ Review partnership and fund IRRs on a quarterly basis and prepare ad hoc calculations
+ Review management fee calculations
+ Assist audit and tax professionals in year-end audit and tax reporting
+ Prepare detailed cash projections for fund liquidity reporting
+ Assist marketing in preparation of LP specific reporting and responses to prospective client RFP
+ Work with investor relations to answer LP questions

**Qualifications** :
+ Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
+ Strong understanding of accounting theory and fund accounting and financial reporting
+ 5 - 8 years of accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
+ Experience with credit related products, including loan settlement and trade reconciliations is a plus
+ Highly detail oriented and organized

You have:
CPA or Advanced Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
15 + years of combined experience in Public Accounting and Regulatory Reporting in an international banking environment or at Consultancy Firms supporting the financial industry in regulatory reporting. Experience in risk and control matters a plus.

Position Description
We are seeking a Fund Controller, Hedge Funds, with deep investment company and alternative asset accounting experience to join our Fund Treasury team. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Serve as the Hedge Fund Controller lead for new product launches, including the setup and ongoing operations of complex evergreen fund structures.
