Timber Ridge Group Inc history

October 1970: The City of Westminster approved the project and the property was annexed into the city limits.

May 1972: Funding was approved.

January 1973: Timber Ridge Apartments began renting the 100 unites located in 18 buildings.

1974: Timber Ridge Foundation Inc. was formed as a non-profit (501) (c 3) to receive donations.

1980: Directors secured funds to build the adjacent three story mid-rise 80 unit, Ridge Residences.

Wampold Companies, founded in 1981 by Mike Wampold, has built a solid reputation of proven performance in the areas of real estate development, construction, major capital renovations and property management.

1982, Rural Development Housing.

Since 1985, the company has acquired and renovated 14 such properties.

Construction began in 1986 and the project was completed ahead of schedule.

1990: A loan was acquired from the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development for renovations to Timber Ridge Apartments.

Later, the 166,222 square-foot City Plaza building was acquired and renovated in 1999 and is often acknowledged as the most prestigious office building in downtown Baton Rouge.

In 2001, the company also co-developed the 707-room Astor Crown Plaza and Alexa Hotel complex located adjacent to the French Quarter on the corner of Bourbon Street and Canal Street in New Orleans.

In the summer of 2002, Wampold Companies completed the construction of Shaw Plaza, a 12-story 240,000 square-foot building.
