In this role, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional kitchen for 450 campers per meal. Todays summer camp staff are a diverse group of men and women sharing a dynamic career offering independence, achievement, and stability. This is a seasonal position (mid-June to mid-August). Responsibilities Prepare all served food. Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions. Follow standard recipes and special diet orders. Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances Providing guidance, motivation, and support to all camp visitors. Communicate with unit leaders, Scouts, visitors, and staff. Maintain high standards for personal appearance and hygiene. Obey and enforce all applicable policies, practices, and procedures approved by the New Birth of Freedom Council and the Boy Scouts of America. Know, understand, and implement emergency action plans when needed. Relay any issues that could impact the safe and successful operation of the camp to the Kitchen Manager immediately. Exemplify all aspects of the Scout Oath and Law and serve as a role model for staff and Scouts. Complete all other duties as assigned by the Camp Director. Desired Skills Safe serv Training.
