Supervisor: Wellness Director

GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Wellness Director, the Wellness Desk Associate will be part of the support staff that is responsible for customer service and meeting the needs of the membership. This is to be accomplished by interacting with members, handling basic questions and administrative tasks, and contributing to the upkeep, cleanliness, and safety standards of the Wellness/Fitness facilities.
KNOW-HOW
Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate and interact with others in a positive manner.
Must be available to work on weekends and evenings.
Must be willing and able to go through First Aid/Adult C.P.R./ AED certification training by their start date and maintain that certification for the duration of employment.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
Maintain a professional attitude at all times during your employment at the New Canaan YMCA.
Arrive on time and ready to work your shift.
Greet members cheerfully, acknowledge and interact with members during your shift.
Assist participants while they are using the facilities and circulate among the members every 10 - 15 minutes.
Maintain a neat and clean Wellness Center/Zone by performing all outlined cleaning duties and addressing any areas that need immediate attention.
Wear your staff shirt and pin, appropriate workout pants or shorts, and sneakers during your shift.
Notify proper personnel of any problems that arise.
Do not work out during your shift.
Do not leave the facility unattended during your shift with the exceptions of checking and cleaning the Zone, collecting attendance numbers, and using the restroom. These exceptions should be timed at nonbusy times when possible and last no more than 5 minutes.
Cell phones are to be put away on shift. Emergency use only!
Cooperate with fellow staff members, e.g., being available to substitute when possible, conveying pertinent information to your supervisor, and doing your part in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.
Obtain your own substitute in the event you cannot make your shift (you will be allotted 2 unexcused absences for emergencies, where your supervisor will secure a substitute for you).
Attend a minimum of 2 of the yearly staff meetings.
Attend a minimum of 2 in-house training sessions offered by the New Canaan YMCA (C.P.R. and First Aid reviews are mandatory and count as one training session).
Incorporate and promote the YMCA mission, as you carry out your responsibilities.
Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
The job description may be changed at any time by supervisor.

The Wellness Desk Associate will ensure that members have a positive member experience while using the Wellness Center.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position does require medium work, e.g., occasionally picking weights up off the floor (1- 45 lbs.), pushing/pulling benches into place, and kneeling, crouching, or bending while cleaning equipment. Must also be able to stand for extended periods of time when at the desk.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

About the Role:
The Class A Utility Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of utility equipment, materials, and personnel to various job sites within the Farmington, CT area. Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety manager.
Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in 8 days.
Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, training courses, or briefings.

Regardless of any regularly scheduled service route assignment, drivers may be scheduled to work a different assignment, including interstate routes. All drivers should have an expectation of operating in interstate commerce as needed.

Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:
GS-5 and GS-7 $40,332 - $109,952 per year
Locality pay varies by duty location.Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary. Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency. Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan akin to a traditional and ROTH 401(k) offering.

You qualify for the GS-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:

Utilizing observational techniques, evaluating facts, and reviewing documentation while applying Federal, State, or local laws and regulations.
Making determinations in compliance with laws and regulations that may lead to arrests, seizure of property, fines, and/or penalties based on findings. OR for the GS-7 grade level:
Education Substitution:A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (3.0 or higher), or (3) honor society membership; OR one (1) full year of graduate-level education. Operations Academy - conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, GA. This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. Successful completion of the Academy is required for this position.

MAJOR DUTIES
Perform installation, maintenance, and operational testing required to maintain the Bureau's communication and intrusion systems in optimal condition.
Perform maintenance and service functions required to obtain optimal operational capability of a wide variety of complex equipment incorporated into FM radio, radio teletype, secure telephone, data and teletype, and intrusion systems.
Use test equipment and advanced techniques to perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks as well as operational testing of the FM radio system (base stations, repeaters, remote and mobile transmitters/receivers, and personal equipment).
