THE NEW HAVEN CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS (NHCPA) EDUCATIONAL AND OUTREACH MISSION IS TO BUILD AUDIENCES FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS AND TO DEEPEN THEIR ENGAGEMENT BY DEVELOPING PROGRAMS THAT ARE DIVERSE, MULTI-DISCIPLINARY, AND ACCESSIBLE TO A BROAD RANGE OF AGES, ABILITIES, ETHNIC AND CULTURAL GROUPS THROUGH STRATEGIC COLLABORATIONS WITH PERFORMING ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AS WELL AS CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS OF EMERGENT ART FORMS AND TECHNOLOGIES.DURING 2017, PROGRAM PLANS WERE SIGNIFICANTLY REVISED WITH FEEDBACK FROM VARIOUS COMMUNITY GROUPS AND INPUT FROM LEADERS IN ART, CULTURE, TOURISM AND EDUCATION TO FOCUS ON:1. CONTINUED SUBSIDIZED USE OF STAGE AND BOX OFFICE FACILITIES.2. CURATED VENDING OPPORTUNITIES (VISUAL ART AND CRAFT SHOWCASES WITH PERFORMANCES).3. PARTNERSHIPS WITH ARTISTIC COMPANIES-IN-RESIDENCE.NHCPA IS WORKING WITH A NETWORK OF COLLABORATING PARTNERS TO CREATE AWARENESS OF THESE OPPORTUNITIES AND FUTURE PROGRAMS AMONG STAFF AND STUDENTS OF NEW HAVEN CT'S PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOLS AND ACROSS THE CREATIVE ECOSYSTEM.BOOKINGS OF SUBSIDIZED USAGE OF THE FACILITIY (COLLEGE STREET MUSIC HALL) INCREASED FOR IMPLEMENTATION IN 2018, AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS WERE CONSOLIDATED DURING THE YEAR.
