Title: Associate Planner, Data and Multimodal Systems Planning Department: NJTPA Reports To: Director of Systems Planning, Data, and Forecasting Staff Under the supervision of the Director of Systems Planning, Data, and Forecasting, the Associate Planner will assist NJTPA staff with a range of data, geographic and modeling analyses and research activities in support of the NJTPA long range transportation plan. Systems Planning supports informed decision-making for the agency's planning, programming, and project development processes. This includes developing and updating performance measures, modeling travel across the region, screening suitable locations for improvements, estimating anticipated outcomes, and assessing the context of the region's diverse locations and communities.
The incumbent will work with Systems Planning staff to advance recommendations from the NJTPA congestion management process and regional accessibility, mobility, sustainability, economic and physical health, land use, resilience, and safety goals. The incumbent will have the opportunity to make use of existing NJTPA data and GIS resources, transportation modeling, statistical tools and coding platforms, as well as contribute to investigation of new resources such as agent-based models. The incumbent will also work closely with the GIS and Data Analytics and other Planning Department groups.
The ideal candidate will have experience with databases, quantitative analysis, and GIS, be familiar with transportation planning issues and travel demand modeling concepts, be highly organized, and can work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid position based in Newark, NJ with the option to work remotely part of the time.
Essential Functions:
* Apply database, geographic, modeling, communication, and analytical tools to support technical analyses, document results, and incorporate findings into databases and other resources for further planning and project development.
* Contribute to the development of reports, meetings, online applications, and workshops for staff, policy makers, regional stakeholders, and the public.
* Assist staff in transportation modeling, forecasting, land use, performance-based planning, performance measures, environmental analysis, and other activities.
* Support Planning Department studies and activities studies pertaining to accessibility, livability/sustainability, active transportation, resilience, travel demand management, safety, land use, goods movement, technology, and other topics.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
* Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, geography, transportation engineering, or a related technical field required.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is the primary department charged with creating a safe and secure environment at Princeton University. DPS sworn University Police Officers have the authority of commissioned police officers with full power of arrest deriving their law enforcement authority from New Jersey statutes (Title 18A, Sections 6-4.2 and 6-4.5) and the Trustees of Princeton University. Title 18A, Section 6-4.5 provides that sworn University Police Officers

University Police Officers are required to complete the same police academies and annual training as their municipal counterparts. This training has been approved and authorized by the State of New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Police Training Commission. Our University police officers, who are unarmed on a daily basis, have access to a police service rifle in limited situations.
Police officers may access service rifles when there is an in-progress threat with an individual brandishing a firearm, an active shooter, or an individual actively committing serious bodily injury or death with a deadly weapon on or “contiguous” to campus. All police officers have qualified with a firearm while at the police academy and are required to attend mandatory in-service firearms training throughout the year to enable them to perform more efficiently and more safely.
DPS has 52 sworn officers including the Assistant Vice President, director of operations, the patrol captain, 5 lieutenants, 7 sergeants, 6 corporals, 3 detectives, 27 police officers, and communications center manager.

Responsibilities
As part of an assigned team, University Police Officers provide campus safety, security, and law enforcement services to the University community. The individual provides a wide range of services, including both traditional and non-traditional police services. Officers are required to participate in crime prevention and community-oriented public safety programming. The successful candidate must project a positive image. Individuals enforce University regulations, local ordinances, and state laws. The individual is a first responder to incidents, accidents, and other emergency situations and is responsible for conducting initial and follow-up investigations into significant and criminal incidents. The individual will work under the direction of a sergeant.
The Department of Public Safety is a 24/7, 365 day operation. The successful candidate must be able to work ALL shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts, as required. Overtime is mandatory.
This is an entry-level, sworn University Police Officer position.
Qualifications

Candidate must meet the physical fitness standards required for police academy admission if not currently licensed or certified.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Current valid vehicle operator's license.
After completion of NJ police academy:
Officer must demonstrate proficiency with assigned firearms and qualify per Attorney General (AG) guidelines and annually thereafter per policy.
Officer must maintain ability to operate assigned firearms under all applicable law and University Policy.
Candidate must successfully complete various fitness for duty assessments, including:
Online testing with Wonderlic;
Comprehensive police background investigation; and
Psychological evaluation and interview.
Must be able to meet Post Offer Pre-Employment Screening (POPES) requirements and be found capable of performing the essential functions and physical requirements of the position, both before commencing employment and any time required thereafter under University policy.
Experience: At least two years of work and/or life experience directly relating to a minimum of two of the following areas:
Community service/involvement;
Interviewing, public speaking, and conflict resolution skills;
Problem solving, using creative method to resolve issues; or
Multi-cultural work and life experiences.
Work environment involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures and loud noises.
Work environment involves moderate exposure to hazards and physical risks to personal safety.
Must be physically fit and able to defend oneself from attack or physical assault.
Must have 20-20 or 20-30 vision either naturally or with corrective lenses.
Must be able to wear the required uniform including, but not limited to a protective vest.
This position requires providing evidence of medical immunity to certain diseases that may pose risk to animals within labs/vivarium and is meant to ensure the safety of the employee, co-workers and animals. All testing information is treated in a confidential manner by University Health Services and is part of the animal worker surveillance program medical protocols.
This is a unionized position within the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
Per the FOP contract, officers attending the Police Academy earn a salary. The starting salary for an officer with their PTC is $63,630/year = $30.59/hour. For those with more than 20 years of law enforcement service, the starting salary is up to $70,700.
Per the FOP contract this position has a 12-month probationary period.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Research Integrity, Security and Compliance, the Director of Research Compliance (Director 3) supports the operational needs of the compliance function within the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), specifically through oversight of Kean's research integrity and security programs. The Director of Research Compliance ensures adherence to federal and state regulations and institutional guidelines and provides support via communications management and excellent customer service to students, faculty and administrators interacting with the ORSP and other university offices including General Counsel, International Programs, Procurement and Information Technology. Knowledge of and experience with the regulatory requirements related to research integrity and ethics, export controls, foreign influence and research security are required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited college and three years of related experience with research compliance, sponsored research administration and/or comparable regulatory experience is required. Five or more years is preferred, including experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience working in higher education is also preferred. A Doctorate degree may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Candidate must have experience with project management in a fast-paced environment; strong oral and written communication skills; familiarity with federal regulatory guidelines including 42 CFR Part 93, NSPM-33, ITAR, EAR, and OFAC; and experience with compliance management platforms (e.g. Cayuse, Huron, Visual Compliance).
