    Title: Part-Time Instructor in New Jersey Politics and Policy Department: Humanities & Social Sciences Reports To: The Department Chair Faculty The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology is currently recruiting a part-time instructor to teach a new course focused on New Jersey politics and policy. This course is intended to contribute to curricular content that fulfills the General Education Requirements and aligns with NJIT's Strategic Plan 2030. The course will focus on the political organization of the state, electoral politics, campaign finance, and key political issues, including tax and fiscal policies, transportation and infrastructure, education, land use, and the environment. The integration of experiential educational opportunities would be an important advantage. The course could also contribute to a growing departmental concentration in "New Jersey Studies." The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is a broadly interdisciplinary community of researchers and educators that encourages current pedagogy consistent with the aims of a technologically intensive university. Prerequisite Qualifications: * Applicants should have a Master's degree in political science, sociology, or a closely related field, or a J.D. degree in law. The successful candidate is expected to follow course requirements and adhere to academic integrity policies. * Prior experience in university-level teaching, especially in areas related to local/state-level politics and policy * At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Bargaining Unit: AFT-UCAN Salary Information: In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per contact hour (USD).
