The Manager, New Product Development is the driving force in turning proof of concept commercial research & development projects into tangible market-ready products. This position requires robust financial analysis skills, understanding of the bid and proposal process, and strong interpersonal skills. The Manager, New Product Development is responsible for ensuring current IRAD projects are completed on time, within budget, and produce meaningful, marketable commercial products. This individual must have desire and demonstrated ability to assess the competitive landscape, determine price-to-win and go-to-market strategies, as well as the managerial courage to stop or eliminate a project when driven by changes in market or other strategic reasons.

Summary

* Oversee, facilitate, & execute the discretionary portfolio of IRAD, B&P, demo, and Pre-proposal

* Facilitate consistent, organization-wide sharing of knowledge (through written reports, charts and graphs, electronic business intelligence support tools, and oral and visual presentations, etc.) on the competition, market trends, and various findings.
* Establish, organize, and continuously update a database of competitor products and research for access by leadership.
* Develop a broad and deep understanding of Electronic Systems & competitor product capability in order to inform strategies and business planning processes.
* Fill the role as the Competitive Assessment and Price-to-Win Subject Matter Expert for a specific product opportunity as assigned.

Purpose:

This individual acts as the primary liaison between program management, engineering, production and Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions throughout the company.
