New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer acts as the subject matter expert for deploying, integrating, optimizing, and implementing JMA 5G products and systems as products are released and/or updated.

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is responsible for conducting FOA/Trial activities in customer/partner lab facilities. They will be the face of JMA to the Lab and will be responsible for executing Test Plans and ultimately gaining approval of JMA products and systems in customer/partner networks.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer Primary Duties include Develop expertise in all aspects of the JMA 5G RAN product offerings Test and document JMA product releases to verify functionality against known deployment scenarios Provide resident engineering services in customer labs for integrating JMA products and services Develop technical procedures for implementing JMA products Execute test plans for various product features and releases for various software versions on JMA equipment Generate test reports for all test cycles Integrating new products into the customer labs for the purposes of gaining acceptance in their networks Be the “trusted advisor” liaison for JMA in customer environments

Here's the Gist:
The primary focus of this position is to support development and lead characterization of diffusion and implant processes for new power products and technologies in Wolfspeed's state of the art, highly automated, silicon carbide wafer fab. This role will involve a strong partnership with R&D and Operations to ensure new products and technologies are optimized and characterized for both product performance and manufacturability. You will perform process windowing using DOE, conduct gage R&Rs, evaluate and characterize new tool/metro platforms, validate specs, assess new process Cpk, and compile a process manual for each new technology.

The Day-to-Day
Utilize your experience and knowledge in diffusion and implant to fully window new processes in development and understand tuning knobs.Engage with the Sustaining Process Engineering team early to set them up for success by ensuring knowledge is shared.Work closely with the R&D team to assess manufacturability of new design specs and integration; support R&D with onsite tool, process, and metrology expertise.Assist in evaluating and introducing new equipment as needs arise.Responsible for documentation and training in the transfer of new processes to manufacturing including capacity planning, characterization work, OCAP's, FMEA's, and process control plans and limits.Present technical data and project updates to peers and management in both a casual and formal environment.

Purpose Statement: The role of the NPI Engineer is to initiate and provide guidance to the design, development, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing and supporting processes for new product, using classical manufacturing engineering skills. An NPI Engineer has a high degree of knowledge and understanding of critical manufacturing processes best practices.

Key Job Accountabilities:
Execute and monitor new product introduction builds to drive improvements.Deliver world-class user experience by establishing optimal quality solutions.Publish progress reports on product readiness to stakeholders.

Additional Accountabilities:
Drive notable year over year improvements in Key Performance Indicators.Travel to customer site for early engagement (with customer-focus team staff).Oversee the implementation of new customer quality requirements Determine need for Plexus DFX (or subsets).Coordinate APQP activities and ensure they drive meeting KPI goals upon launch plan.Lead Plexus Part Quality Plan initiative.Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 10-25%).Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher is preferred.Five (5) years of related experience is required; Five (5) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.Preferably two (2) years in a supervisory or project leader role.
