Essential Functions: * Supply and administer medication pursuant to physician order and record dosage administered in the medical record. * Conduct an actual sight and count inventory of the medication supply daily. * Maintain absolute accuracy in daily accounting of medication that is supplied or administered in inventory. * Collect fees and perform daily cash reconciliation in the absence of a cashier position. * Ensure disposal of medical waste through the proper protocol. * Observe the patient's demeanor prior to dosing. * Contact other centers to verify dosages as needed. * Administer appropriate lab tests as required including patient vital signs, TB tests when required, and collects data for review by the Medical Director or RN. * Schedule and screen patients to be seen by the Medical Director. * Assist the Medical Director in collecting data for the history and physical as required. * Maintain absolute control, tracking, and confidentiality of all patient medical paperwork. * Actively participate in CARF preparation and state audit process. * Interface with the public and patients by answering phones, greeting visitors, and monitoring patient activities while on center premises. Job Description: The Infusion Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional and empathetic care to patients while administering Physician orders of chemotherapy/biotherapy regiments. Responsibilities Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient and their families, provides blankets, snacks, and beverages. Works collaboratively with the Physicians and RN's to deliver chemotherapy regiments to patients according to Physician orders. Practices safe administration of infusions, injections, and transfusions. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient. Acts as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up including, but not exclusive to providers, social work, dietician, integrative medicine, pharmacy, navigators, laboratory, radiation therapy, genetics, and clinical research. Assists with administering shots and phlebotomy as required. Reviews all chemotherapy regiments before delivering to patients. Put away medical and supply stock as delivered. Check infusion regiments for accuracy, communicate to the clinical care team regarding any concerns. Participates in continuing education, in service and department trainings as required. Manage a caseload of patients receiving a variety of infusion therapies on an outpatient basis. Maintains RN license as required by the State Practice patient confidentiality at all times including abiding by HIPPA requirements. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to help drive our mission of delivering high-quality and compassionate cancer care in our community, for our community, and by oncologists who live in our community. Qualifications Current RN license through the State of SC. Previous experience working in a Hematology and Oncology Office preferred. Previous experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system required.
