A Line Tech Lead by KHMS definition is a department maintenance Trio member. Trio, is a partnership between Production Supervisor (Process Owner), Continuous Improvement Leads (CI) and the Maintenance Lead. Trio objectives include providing the shop floor with the tools and systems needed to drive engagement, performance & a zero loss state. They will do so while safely delivering planned production without defects, every time, while minimizing cost. Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner. Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments. Inspects work performed by team members. Parts and materials are analyzed for defects and proper fitment. The Line Tech Lead will help with the load leveling of PM's as they pertain to Line Tech workload. This employee will develop the maintenance capability of the Line Tech Team by serving as a technical coach and resource. They will Coach line operating teams on technical aspects of equipment. The Lead spends time on the floor gathering information on breakdowns, defects, and work order completions over the past 24 hours. Works with the SAP Coordinator to continuously improve PM work instructions, task lists, and checklists. The Line Tech Lead will work with the Planner to ensure that all work is completed on time. Managed by: * Filling Production Supervisor Working Conditions * 40 hours per week/8 hours daily/5 days per week. * Works overtime as the need arises including weekends. * Flexibility to adjust shift schedule to work with employees on other shifts as required. * Required to wear the following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): (bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant shoes, ear plugs). Duties/Responsibilities: * Filling Dept. Maintenance TRIO Lead * Attend daily DPM meetings - how to WIN the day. * Directs daily huddle & workflow. * Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work. * Prioritize Maintenance activities with the weekly schedule in conjunction with the Planner. * Supports / Leads deployment, adherence, and continuous improvement of KHMS requirements & assist with some daily administrative tasks. * Breakdown elimination * DMS Continuous improvement - Centerline & CIL, PMs & 5S * Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) & 5W-1H * Help facilitate Line Tech shift handoff meetings. * Review and follow up on Daily Shift Reports. * Help recruit, train & develop maintenance Line Technicians. * Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. * Inspect equipment periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance. * Review / update PM's to confirm done to completion / audit repairs. * Monitor inventory of materials and equipment. * Participate in coordination of projects, both equipment/mechanical & formulation / R&D. * Ensure quality of our products and workplace by following all procedures and guidelines. * Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects. * Ensure adherence to quality standards, health and safety regulations. * Support Maintenance KHMS Pillar: * Breakdown & Loss Elimination * Asset Criticality * Manage Defects * Base Condition Events * Updating workbooks & loss trees. * Performs other related duties as assigned by Production Manager. * Back up area Planner while on vacation. * Weekend coverage & off-shifts - only as needed. Physical Requirements: * Frequent standing & walking required. * Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. * Ability to lift 50 pounds. Other requirements: * Operate Forklift, Scissor Lift, and JLG. * Certified in LOTO. * Member of Plant ERT Team * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to plan maintenance schedules. * Ability to communicate effectively using both verbal and written means. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. * Proficiency's with using CMMS system - Preferably SAP PM. * Must have the ability to work in a team environment. Education and Experience: * High School Diploma/GED required. * At least five years of maintenance experience required.Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and with the support of management staff, the Department Maintenance Lead will own results for technical training of the team, defect handling system, execution of the 52-week plan from the COE, MRO costs for the process. The applicant would focus on quick, high volume jobs (oil changes, brakes, tires, alignments and front end suspension, filters, batteries, etc.).
