    Why New Vista Oakwood The mission of New Vista is to assist individuals and families in the enhancement of their emotional, mental and physical well-being by providing mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities and substance abuse services. Oakwood's Specialty Clinic is a state of the art facility providing the highest quality medical, dental and psychiatric care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Position Description The Part-Time Psychiatrist works approximately 30 hours per week, providing ongoing Psychiatric Assessments to each individual receiving psychotropic medication, which will be documented in the Progress Notes. They will be integrated into the Interdisciplinary Team's function at monthly meetings. They will integrate with the Clinical Specialist and exchange data on at least a monthly basis. Also will attend Post-Epileptology and Neurology Clinic meetings and interface with the Epileptologist and/or Neurologist specifically regarding their patients. The Psychiatrist will attend the Morning Medical Meetings, the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, and the Infection Control Committee meetings, and may be requested to be a part of a Behavior Intervention Team meeting and the Human Rights Committee. They also provide individualized services to meet the treatment needs of each of the specialty intermediate care (IC) clinic patients for services in field of care. They shall meet requirements of 902 KAR 20:410 Specialty Intermediate Care Clinics as warranted. Oakwood New Vista provides support for CEUs. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The 988 Trainer is responsible for updating all training material, ensuring current standards and practices remain in line with Vibrant and SAMHSA, state and federal guidelines, and works to provide that training to the 988 Team and Contact Center staff. The primary function of the 988 Trainer is to ensure the Contact Center staff and 988 Volunteers are properly trained to provide compassionate, efficient, and effective support to individuals in crisis. The 988 Trainer is tasked with participating in community partner meetings, often presenting material to groups. The 988 Trainer works closely with the 988 Coordinator to foster collaborative relationships and teamwork within the Contact Center, the organization, and with community partners through volunteer recruitment, training and education. The 988 Trainer thinks freely and promotes a “no wrong door” approach - that any program a client enters can provide a universal gateway to enter any New Vista Services.
