Oakwood's Specialty Clinic is a state of the art facility providing the highest quality medical, dental and psychiatric care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
Position Description
The Part-Time Psychiatrist works approximately 30 hours per week, providing ongoing Psychiatric Assessments to each individual receiving psychotropic medication, which will be documented in the Progress Notes. They will be integrated into the Interdisciplinary Team's function at monthly meetings. They will integrate with the Clinical Specialist and exchange data on at least a monthly basis. Also will attend Post-Epileptology and Neurology Clinic meetings and interface with the Epileptologist and/or Neurologist specifically regarding their patients. The Psychiatrist will attend the Morning Medical Meetings, the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, and the Infection Control Committee meetings, and may be requested to be a part of a Behavior Intervention Team meeting and the Human Rights Committee. They also provide individualized services to meet the treatment needs of each of the specialty intermediate care (IC) clinic patients for services in field of care. They shall meet requirements of 902 KAR 20:410 Specialty Intermediate Care Clinics as warranted. Oakwood New Vista provides support for CEUs.
Qualifications
• Doctorate of Medicine
• Licensed as a Medical Doctor for the state of Kentucky
