Summary: As an integral member of the Data Management Team (DMT), the Data Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of program databases. Reporting directly to the Data Manager and the Assistant Data Manager, with additional guidance from the Borough Director, the Data Coordinator is responsible for tracking program discrepancies, managing databases, and identifying data trends that impact program outcomes. SUMMARY The Brooklyn/Staten Island Sports League Coordinator will be the main person in charge on game-days at the game location. They are responsible for the overall coordination of all Brooklyn/Staten Island based New York Edge seasonal sports leagues (occurring on Saturdays) & tournaments (days vary), both in-person & virtually. They will provide ongoing support to all NYE sites within this borough. Support will be provided through both in-person & virtual site visits. The Brooklyn/Staten Island Sports League Coordinator is responsible for managing a cohort of sports league assistants on game days. This role will also be responsible for assisting in training staff for all leagues, as well as assisting with Sports & Wellness Department special events. This is a hybrid position. This position will work out of the NYE HQ in Woodside, NY as well as various Brooklyn/Staten Island based locations where leagues are located. THE ROLE New York Edge Curriculum & Instructional Technology Department is seeking a Sr. Animation Experience Designer to play a key role at New York Edge Animation Studios. This unique opportunity is perfect for those with a strong background in animation, and are eager to apply their skills in an instructional setting. As part of our dedicated team, you will develop and refine engaging curriculum content for students in grades K-12 who participate in our afterschool program. Utilizing industry-standard software such as Dragonframe, Adobe, Blender, and ToonBoom, you will help shape the next generation of animators and storytellers. The ideal candidate should also possess hands-on studio experience, and a solid artistic foundation. This role requires not just technical proficiency but also a creative and pedagogical approach to teaching animation that serves the diverse needs of young learners across New York City. This role reports directly to Megan Basaldua and Vincent Spencer, Directors of New York Edge Animation Studios. Key Responsibilities: Evaluation and Adaptation: Assist in assessing and adapting existing animation curricula and training material to meet the unique needs of New York Edge programs. Collaborative Meetings: Participate in meetings with the curriculum team, instructional staff, and program directors to understand curriculum requirements and implementation strategies. Curriculum & Instructional Media Development: Contribute to the development of curricula that aligns with organizational goals and adhere to specific formats and standards. Integration of Instructional Technologies: Learn to incorporate learning technologies into curricula, utilizing tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Milanote, and Asana to enhance educational effectiveness. Site Visits: Conduct regular visits to program sites to observe experience facilitation and implementation, ensuring alignment with educational goals. Studio Management: Support animation instructors through regular training and check-ins, and manage studio resources to facilitate an optimal teaching and learning environment. Reporting: Communicate site needs and developments in real-time to ensure responsive curriculum adjustments and resource allocation. Must participate actively in weekly professional development sessions to keep instructors updated on iterations of the stop-motion animation experience and modules. Qualification Requirements: A college degree in Media Arts or related field. Bachelor's Degree required. A willingness to learn Instructional Design Knowledge such as Understanding by Design (UbD), DACUM, Backward Design Method, and the ADDIE framework. Understanding of Standards: Awareness of the New York State K-12 Common Core Learning Standards and an interest in creating grade-specific content. Collaborative Approach: Willingness to work closely with a diverse team of curriculum developers, instructors, and program directors. Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn and contribute to the creation of engaging and impactful learning experiences for students. Job Description New York Edge is New York's leading provider of after-school programs. SUMMARY The Brooklyn/Staten Island Sports League Coordinator will be the main person in charge on game-days at the game location. They are responsible for the overall coordination of all Brooklyn/Staten Island based New York Edge seasonal sports leagues (occurring on Saturdays) & tournaments (days vary), both in-person & virtually. They will provide ongoing support to all NYE sites within this borough. Support will be provided through both in-person & virtual site visits. The Brooklyn/Staten Island Sports League Coordinator is responsible for managing a cohort of sports league assistants on game days. This role will also be responsible for assisting in training staff for all leagues, as well as assisting with Sports & Wellness Department special events. This is a hybrid position. This position will work out of the NYE HQ in Woodside, NY as well as various Brooklyn/Staten Island based locations where leagues are located. Essential Job Functions: Coordinate data gathered from the league registration process for all leagues & tournaments among NYE sites. Assist in creating marketing materials related to leagues & tournaments. Aid in securing permits for any/all event locations. Use sports management software to coordinate, create & consistently update all league & tournament schedules, including but not limited to weekly standings. Coordinate transportation for all participating sites, through creating weekly bus schedules. Establish & maintain clear communication with all key parties, including but not limited to subcontractors, vendors, volunteers, parents, students and all NYE staff. Support the review, review & establishment of rules, guidelines & procedures for participation in events. Assist in ongoing in-person/virtual professional development for all sports league & tournament related staff, including but not limited to rules, guidelines & procedures. Help to develop & design materials and/or resources related to sports leagues & tournaments. Directly manage, support & develop a team of staff including sports league borough assistants. Promote a positive culture & maintain a safe environment for all participants & attendees. Conduct equipment assessments as needed. Transport sports league related equipment & supplies to game & event locations. This includes assisting in event set up and breakdown. Coordinate the collection of attendance at all leagues & tournaments. Ensure all key parties are following protocols & procedures during leagues & tournaments. Be liaison between New York Edge After-School Program Directors, Program Managers, Sports Specialists and the Sports and Wellness Department. Assist in other Sports & Wellness departmental events when needed or assigned. Lead clinics for students in league/tournament based sports. Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Sports & Wellness or Sports League Manager. Required Skills: Passion for New York Edge's mission and youth development. Reliable, organized and punctual. Knowledge of effective sports based programming. Strong leader and team-builder. Ability to use a variety of computer based programs such as Google Suite, Adobe, Canva & LeagueApps. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including remotely from home and in-person at our Woodside, Queens main office or at an event location. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, applying tact and discretion as situations demand. Must have excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills. Responsible and professional conduct that serves as a role model to staff and youth. Qualifications: A college degree in Physical Education or Sports Management is highly preferred. 1-3 years of work-related skill, knowledge & experience. Preferred experience with NYCDOE or Public School System. Must undergo DOH & DOE fingerprinting & background checks. Strong communication skills (presentation and written), leadership abilities, flexibility and outstanding problem solving skills. Being bilingual is a plus. Must have the ability to travel throughout the boroughs of Brooklyn/Staten Island. Must be able to work on most Saturdays, plus 2-3 additional weekdays. Must be able to work 25-29 hrs/wk.
