Clinical responsibilities are shared among the members of the ID division and include daily rounding on a busy inpatient service with trainees and an ID- PharmD.
We have a very active hospital epidemiology service and members of the division are actively involved in IP&C and antimicrobial stewardship. These activities include research, mentorship, and additional skill development. Our group is highly collaborative, working closely with colleagues in other sub-specialty divisions as well as with the epidemiologists and ID physicians throughout the New York-Presbyterian 9 acute care campus system.
We are also actively involved in teaching at all levels, with learners from VP&S, the Mailman School of Public Health, pediatric residents and post-doctoral fellows. Our faculty frequently serves as mentors on the scholarly projects of these learners.

The Division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science offers 3 ABET accredited undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security Systems and Information Technology. Additionally, it also offers undergraduate degrees in Networking Systems, and Healthcare Informatics, as well as master's degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, and Cyber and Information Security. The graduate degrees in Data Science and Cyber and Information Security were among the first universities and colleges recently awarded ABET accreditation.

The Department of Counseling and Mental Health Professions, in the School of Health Sciences at Hofstra University, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, for an anticipated tenure-track position in the graduate Marriage and Family Therapy program beginning Fall 2026. An additional stipend will be provided for serving as Program Director.

The Program:
The Marriage and Family Therapy program, an in-person 54 credit degree program, prepares students for licensure in New York State. The program features dynamic, practice-based courses led by dedicated faculty who prepare students with the skills necessary to work with couples and families to resolve relationship conflicts. Students receive intensive academic and clinical training through theory and applied classes and an integrated internship that's completed at the on-campus Counseling and Mental Health Professions Clinic.
The Department:
The Department of Counseling and Mental Health Professions offers six graduate-level programs in School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Creative Arts Therapy Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Rehabilitation Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling in Mental Health, as well as advanced certificates in Addiction and Substance Abuse and various counseling specialties, and an undergraduate minor in Human Services.
The School:
The School of Health Sciences is home to four academic departments, including Allied Health and Kinesiology; Counseling and Mental Health Professions; Population Health, and Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. The mission of the school is to educate students in the theory and practices of their specialized area of study, with a strong foundation in the natural, social, and behavioral sciences. * Teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in Music Education and methods; the normal teaching load is nine (9) semester hours per semester.
* Direct and supervise both the undergraduate (BS) and graduate music education degree programs (MSEd and MA in Music Education), which also involves the oversight of adjunct faculty. An additional stipend will be provided for program direction based on enrollment.
* Coordinate placement and supervision of student teachers.
* Play a pivotal role in revitalizing and reimagining both the undergraduate (BS) and graduate music education degree programs (MSEd and MA in Music Education).
* Actively recruit for the Music Department and the University.
* Monitoring state certification requirements and serving as a liaison for accreditation procedures with relevant agencies.
* Establish professional contacts with music educators in area preK-12 public schools.
* Engage in Department, College, and University service.
* Engage in continued professional research and creative activity.
* Engaging in and leading research, scholarship, and other scholarly and professional endeavors that advance the mission and values of the School of Education.
* Pursuing external research funding and grant opportunities.
* Providing service to the departments of Music and Teaching and Learning Technology, college, university, and professional community.
Qualifications
* Doctorate in Music Education required.
