Position Summary:
The After-school Site Director will lead and manage the day-to-day activities of NYJTL's after school program. They must be able to manage the staff and provide school-based after-school programming to youth. They are also responsible for executing NYJTL's program curriculum in a quality manner, supervising Assistant Site Director, Group Leaders and Activity Specialists.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee a high-quality youth development program that incorporates NYJTL's mission, vision and positioning, strong leadership skills, contractual requirements, and engaging activities for participants.
Must be able to always meet enrollment and Rate of Participation (ROP) successfully.
Responsible for making sure all line staff are trained in all areas of the program operation.
Must ensure qualified staff are on duty to meet required ratios during all childcare hours. During breaks, lunch, and short-term absences (three days or less).
Supervises staff and oversees training. Together with Ed Specialist, develops and implements education curriculum.
Must be willing to abide by and maintain the State's qualifications and training requirement for the SACC-License to maintain all Agencies regulations.
Must be able to effectively carry out program operations and policies to achieve program goals and meet needed requirements.
Preferred experience working with children from diverse backgrounds.
Must be able to conduct effective and timely performance appraisals of line staff. Redirects behavior not in line with NYJTL guidelines or performance expectations.
Must have working knowledge of DOH, DOE and DYCD regulations and codes, and ability to handle site inspections.
Experience in developing and managing complex budgets; ability to stay within budget.
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the school staff (e.g. principal and teachers), community served, and outreach to members within the community to develop partnerships that will support program development and the delivery of high quality services.
Must be able to keep all required administrative records and files according to program requirements and applicable regulations.
Responsible for appearance and safety of facility.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required with preference in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
Minimum of two years of supervisory and management experience developing and implementing youth programs, staff training and evaluation; ability to work with a diverse staff of varying professional and educational experiences.
Demonstrate ability in program outreach and recruitment, budgeting, performance based contracting and compliance with SACC licensing procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, programming and organizational, verbal and written skills.
Must be able to display all of the qualities that we seek to instill within our students, such as confidence, creativity, an ability to resolve conflicts peacefully and a love for art.
Demonstrated ability to relate to young people and staff as a positive adult role model.
Proficiency with various computer programs and willingness to learn new ones.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate discretion.

Knowledge of USTA's 10 and under tennis using the QuickStart format.
Prior experience in assisting with operating tennis tournaments.

Position Summary

Position Summary:
We are looking for an After-school Program Manager to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of NYJTL's out-of-school time programs across Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Reporting to the Senior Director of After-School Operations for NYJTL's after-school programs, the Program Manager will supervise Site Directors throughout the four boroughs.

Skills/Qualification Requirements:

Position Summary
NYJTL is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Social Worker to support the emotional wellness in our school-based afterschool programs. Position Summary:
NYJTL is seeking a full-time, in-person Afterschool SEL & Mental Wellness Specialist to strengthen student support systems across Bronx afterschool programs. You'll provide brief student support, lead SEL groups, and coach staff in trauma-informed and restorative practices. You'll collaborate closely with Site Directors, school-day partners (including school social workers), and caregivers to ensure consistent, culturally responsive support for students.
Site coverage: You'll start at one afterschool site for the first 3 months, then expand to support additional Bronx sites at least once per week.

What You'll Do
Provide brief, solution-focused student support and respond to emotional/behavioral concerns during afterschool hours (in partnership with school-day social work staff as needed)
Facilitate SEL skill-building groups and targeted psychoeducation aligned to program goals
Coach afterschool staff and Site Directors on trauma-informed strategies, restorative approaches, and SEL-aligned routines
Support family engagement and help develop culturally responsive tools/resources for sites
Coordinate with school-day staff and caregivers to support continuity for students
Lead and participate in cross-site trainings, group supervision, and learning communities
Perform other related duties aligned with NYJTL's afterschool and mental wellness programming
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
1-2 years of experience working with children/youth in NYC schools, after-school, or community-based programs
Strong foundation in trauma-informed care, SEL, and restorative approaches
Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and program staff.
Demonstrated cultural humility and experience working with diverse communities
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Position Summary
The Program Assistant Director helps guide all functions of a site's daily programming, ensuring that all participants and staff are safe and engaged. Teaming with the Program Director, they are on-site before children arrive and are there throughout the duration of the after-school program to ensure that the logistical needs of the program are met. Position Summary

Position Summary

Position Summary
The Group Leader is the primary frontline staff responsible for supervising and engaging a group of children or youth in a DYCD-funded after-school program. The Group Leader ensures safety, leads activities, supports homework time, and builds positive relationships with participants and families.

Supervision & Safety
Provide active supervision of assigned group(typically 15-20 participants), maintaining required ratios at all times.
Oversee transitions, bathroom breaks, trips, and dismissal according to program safety procedures.
Implement emergency procedures and complete incident reports as required.
Program Delivery & Youth Engagement
Lead or co-lead activities including homework help, enrichment, recreation, and SEL activities, using lesson plans provided by the Education Specialist/Activity Specialists.
Create a welcoming, inclusive group environment that supports positive youth development.
Use positive behavior management strategies, restorative approaches, and de-escalation techniques.
Encourage youth voice, leadership, and teamwork.
Communication & Relationships
Build supportive, respectful relationships with youth and serve as a positive role model.

Required:

Position Summary
The Program Assistant Director helps guide all functions of a site's daily programming, ensuring that all participants and staff are safe and engaged. Teaming with the Program Director, they are on-site before children arrive and are there throughout the duration of the after-school program to ensure that the logistical needs of the program are met. They must have a strong commitment to youth development and be willing to learn and implement new strategies to inspire students to be positive, thoughtful, and motivated to work hard. They are supported by and collaborate regularly with our passionate Group Leaders and Activity Specialists.

Support the smooth daily operation of the afterschool program at a given site
Ensure regular attendance by participants
Ensure staff provides a positive learning experience to youth

Participate in NYJTL city-wide program events and training sessions

Qualifications
Associate degree or 60 credits on college transcript
2+years experienceworking with elementary or middle school-aged children with diverse backgrounds
Availability Monday - Friday, 1:00pm - 6:00pm during the school year and some school holidays
Evidence of strong leadership, project & data management, and organizational skills
Excellent staff management and administrative skills
Excellent knowledge of youth development and education
Must be able to develop and implement age-appropriate curricula, consistently innovating and improving program quality
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel)

Position Summary
NYJTL is seeking a dynamic Director of Tennis Pathways - Instruction & Competition to oversee the delivery, growth, and quality of grassroots tennis programming across our sites. This role ensures that instruction is consistent, competitions are mission-driven, and staff are equipped to deliver world-class experiences for youth. The Director will leverage deep expertise in the ROGY (Red, Orange, Green, Yellow) curriculum to mentor staff, solve operational challenges, and engage families. The ideal candidate is both a technical leader and a community builder-capable of inspiring coaches, supporting players, and creating meaningful connections between families, staff, and the broader NYJTL community. This position reports to the VP of Tennis Pathways and Player Development.
Core Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership
Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of grassroots tennis programming through site visits and on-court coaching support.
Implement and adapt the ROGY curriculum to address diverse skill levels, large groups, and site-specific challenges.
Use observation, data, and feedback to drive instructional excellence and innovation.
Staff Development
Train, mentor, and empower instructors and site staff to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.
Serve as a communication bridge across all sites to ensure aligned goals, consistency, and share best practices.
Program & Competition Management
Support and shape youth tennis competitions that align with NYJTL's mission and engage players at all levels.
Lead talent identification efforts across the player development pathway.
Troubleshoot day-to-day site challenges and foster a culture of excellence across all programming.
Family & Community Engagement
Develop and lead a parent education program to promote understanding of NYJTL's philosophy, youth development approach, and competition pathways.
Collaborate with the marketing team to highlight successes, share impact stories, and strengthen community support.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in youth tennis instruction, coaching, or program management.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with the ROGY curriculum and engaging with large groups.
Proven ability to lead and mentor coaches and site staff.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for youth development and community-based programming.
Certification preferred but not a requirement to start (USPTA, PTR, or USTA coaching, SafeSport)

Position Summary
Join our team at NYJTL Community Tennis Programs (CTP) and play a vital role in facilitating the day-to-day operation of tennis programs for youth across multiple locations in all five boroughs of New York City. Position Summary
The Group Leader is the primary frontline staff responsible for supervising and engaging a group of children or youth in a DYCD-funded after-school program. The Group Leader ensures safety, leads activities, supports homework time, and builds positive relationships with participants and families.

Provide active supervision of assignedgroup(typically 15-20 participants), maintaining required ratios at all times.
Oversee transitions, bathroom breaks, trips, and dismissal according to program safety procedures.

Lead or co-lead activities including homework help, enrichment, recreation, and SEL activities, using lesson plans provided by the Education Specialist/Activity Specialists.

Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED.

The Program Director provides overall leadership and management for a DYCD-funded after-school program. This position is responsible for contract compliance, program quality, staff supervision, school partnership, family engagement, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment that meets DYCD performance indicators and agency standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Compliance
Oversee all aspects of daily program operations in alignment with DYCD COMPASS/SONYC guidelines, SACC/DOHMH regulations, and agency policies.
Ensure compliance with enrollment targets, hours of operation, activity requirements, and staffing ratios.
Serve as primary contact for DYCD program managers, school administration, and agency leadership.
Prepare for and participatein DYCD site visits, monitoring, and audits; implement corrective action plans as needed.
Program Design & Quality
In collaboration with the Education Specialist, ensure a balanced schedule that includes academics, enrichment, recreation, and social-emotional learning.

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, Public Administration, or related field.
