The NYJTL afterschool program provides children with safe and nurturing environments in which they can learn and thrive academically, while receiving critical support to reach their potential both on and off the tennis court. The NYJTL afterschool program operates in elementary, middle and high schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. Position Summary
The Education Specialist is critical in establishing and maintaining program quality by supporting frontline staff in effectively implementing program activities. Education Specialists must be able to develop lesson plans and reinforce learning with the aid of Group Leaders. They also must be skilled in engaging children. Education Specialists should have knowledge of after-school programs and the mandates of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH)
Core Responsibilities
Review lesson plans and ensure all activities are designed with learning goals or skill gains
Work with Group Leaders, engaging them in the lesson plan development process and modeling activity facilitation to help Group Leaders develop professionally and eventually to become Activity Specialists.
Supervise participants while maintaining order, providing a conducive learning environment, ensuring their safety.
Facilitate purposeful activities that foster the development of new skills in children, while reinforcing skills/information previously taught.
Assist in all activities needed for the orderly operation of the program, inclusive of: supervising children during snack/supper, facilitating dismissal, conducting field trips, hosting special events, etc.
Provide strong classroom and behavioral management skills, ensuring that all participants follow agency and program rules.
Complete all projects and tasks as requested, while ensuring the safety and security of all participants and the smooth operation of programming.
Attend and supervise children during special projects and field trips, including those which occur outside of regular program hours.
Complete 15 hours of professional development each calendar year.
Attend all meetings, training workshops and special events, as required, inclusive of those outside of program hours.
Serve as a positive and engaging role model for students; work with students one-on-one when necessary and be flexible to meet their needs.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Teaching certificate preferred but not required
Two years' experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children.
Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create interactive academic and/or enrichment activities that are age appropriate. Please note we will ask for a sample lesson plan during the interview process.
Genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice.

Position Summary:
The NYJTL is seeking experienced tutors for our ACES After School Program. Candidate must have a strong interest in working with youth in after-school settings. We are seeking dynamic and engaging presenters, who possess the ability to motivate others, as part-time English and Math tutors.
This tutor will be able to connect one on one with elementary and middle school aged students. The ideal candidate must be able to display the ability to customize learning plans for each student. Responsible for the planning and implementation of a discipline or content-specific program activity such as Math with English experience. The ideal candidate will introduce new skills and reinforce learning. Under the direction of the Program Manager, or Director, the Tutor will implement educational enrichment activities for various groups in the program.

Provides individual and group tutoring in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills to students.

The Baseball Coach is responsible for teaching baseball fundamentals and fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development in youth ages 13 to 19. The Coach plans and facilitates baseball instruction, practices, and games while serving as a positive role model for participants and the community.

PAL is seeking an IT Support Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of computer systems, hardware, and IT infrastructure. IT Project Management and Customer Service:
Provide the highest level of technical support to employees locally and remotely
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with company staff, vendors, and IT business partners using strong customer service skills
Respond promptly and clear to any tickets submitted in PAL's IT ticketing system and keep the ticketing information up to date.
Work closely with PAL management team & PAL's IT Business Partner to assure seamless communication between computers and network-based systems and peripherals.
Continuously document IT operations process to assist with maintaining knowledge base

Job Summary:
The MAAP Mentor is responsible for working with high risk youth throughout the borough of Brooklyn between the ages of 12 to 21. Mentors are responsible for providing individual mentoring, case management and advocacy for youth on their respective caseloads. Mentors should be familiar with issues facing inner-city high-risk youth. Mentors must also be familiar and comfortable traveling and connecting to social, recreation and youth resource supports throughout Brooklyn as well as in the Brooklyn neighborhoods where their mentees reside. He/she will be tasked with creating individualized goals plans and providing direction and support to youth around completion of those goals. Mentor will attend school and program meetings as necessary to advocate for youth. Mentors will make referrals and provide monitoring for outside services when needed. Mentor will engage in social activities with youth, with the goal of creating a strong mentor/mentee relationship in order to accomplish aforementioned tasks. Mentors will also be responsible for crisis intervention and more intensive case work and mentoring for high-risk cases. All Mentor activities will be under the direction of the MAAP Social Worker and Program Supervisor.

7. Provide mentoring services with intensive supervision and 24/7 crisis intervention for youth on caseload.

9. Assist youth and family to fully understand and adhere to all court ordered obligations, conditions of probation or aftercare.
