NYU CDS seeks JuniorResearchScientists as part of its new initiative, Polymathic AI, Building Foundation Models for Science. Recent advances in machine learning, including Large Language Models and diffusion based generative models have driven significant advances in Artificial Intelligence. Polymathic AI seeks to leverage these ideas to develop the next generation of AI-powered scientific analysis tools, seeking more powerful and more interpretable models with broad applications to many scientific disciplines. Our group includes researchers from multiple scientific disciplines ranging from machine learning, to astrophysics, biology, neuroscience and quantum computing.
The selected candidates will work closely with a group of computer scientists, domain scientists, and AI experts in developing software and leveraging large language models and large AI models to solve pressing scientific challenges.
Polymathic AI has access to computational resources allowing training of large AI models to support this new initiative. We offer an exciting multidisciplinary context for researching AI and its applications.
The JuniorResearchScientist position will take place in-person at NYU CDS office in New York City.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and train large AI models for pressing scientific questions
Curate large datasets pertinent to the initiative
Develop, implement, maintain, and support software relevant to the initiative.
Engage in foundation models for science research
Collaborate with other software engineers, Flatiron Research Fellows, Researchscientists
Perform any other duties or tasks as required by the initiative
Help build, improve, and support high-quality, open-source software libraries relating to efforts within the group
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $80,000.

Expectations

Expected start date and period of employment

The Embryologist will serve as an essential member of the Fertility Center's Embryology Laboratory. This mid-level position is ideal for an embryologist with a solid foundation of clinical experience who seeks to expand expertise in advanced laboratory procedures.

The Graduate Center's Teaching and Learning Center (TLC), founded in 2015, creates and connects opportunities for GC students to grow as educators and scholars within the nation's largest public urban university system. The TLC prepares new college instructors for their entry into the classroom, guides developing instructors as they refine their practices, and helps experienced instructors think through how to best apply what they've learned in the next stages of their careers, whether those careers be inside or outside of the classroom. The TLC is staffed by a combination of full- and part-time scholars from a range of disciplines, and collaborates closely with support units, research centers, and academic programs across the institution. All TLC programs share a commitment to intentional, responsive, and liberatory pedagogies that are designed to serve the population of students that CUNY has historically supported.
The Research Associate/Post-doctoral Fellow will build upon the Center's prior programing by developing new projects and producing original research about select aspects of teaching and learning in the contemporary academy. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in the humanities, the social sciences, or the sciences, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a research interest in pedagogy and the scholarship of teaching and learning, discipline-based education research, educational technology, or a related field. All applicants must have excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
The Research Associate will continue to develop their own scholarly work while also assisting the TLC with identifying and carrying out projects that support graduate students who teach at CUNY. Potential areas of research focus are open, but may include accessibility, emergent literacies, the impacts of artificial intelligence on learning, equity-oriented teaching, inclusive STEM instruction, peer learning, assessment, and more. The Research Associate will lead workshops, guide focused inquiry groups, contribute to the TLC's Critical AI Literacy Institute, and mentor graduate students. Additionally, the Research Associate will actively seek out and apply for grants. The position will work on TLC initiatives including but not limited to the Teach@CUNY Handbook, the Teach@CUNY Institutes, the TLC's workshop series, Focused Inquiry Groups, and Visible Pedagogy (the TLC's blog).
This position is an annual appointment with funding for two (2) years, with possibility of extension. The position will begin before the Fall 2026 semester, and report to the TLC Director.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Contributes to the teaching and learning support offered by the TLC.
- Conducts independent research and engages in writing projects for publication.
- Develops and leads projects that theorize and explore faculty and professional development for graduate students in the contemporary university.
- Meets with and assists graduate students on matters related to their research and teaching.
- Creates materials and guides for fostering inclusive teaching practices across a variety of disciplines.
- Identifies sources of grant funding and contribute to the process of securing funds.
- Assists the TLC in identifying and developing SoTL projects.
- Helps manage the TLC's editorial projects, including the Teach@CUNY Handbook and Visible Pedagogy.
- Participates, designs, and reflects upon various mentoring projects within the university setting.
- Performs related duties as assigned by the director.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
Doctoral Degree conferred in the last five years in any field, and demonstrated research ability.
A preferred candidate should have:
- Active research agenda in pedagogy, the scholarship of teaching and learning, or discipline
based research.

**COMPENSATION**
$65,000-$70,000/year

CUNY SoM is seeking a Institutional Research Specialist (Data Integration),the Institutional Research Specialist - Data Integration will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data integration solutions at the CUNY School of Medicine. This role involves collaborating with multiple departments to ensure seamless data flow and integration. Located within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, this role supports the office's institutional research, assessment, accreditation, and strategic decision support activities. In addition to the summary, the Institutional Research Specialist - Data Integration will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
+ Develop and maintain data integration solutions for student information systems, learning management systems, and other educational technologies, using appropriate tools to extract,transform, and load data.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and administration, to understand data requirements and design integration processes.
+ Monitor and troubleshoot data integration workflows to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
+ Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation to support academic and administrative needs.
+ Document data integration processes and provide training to end-users.
+ Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data integration.
+ Support data quality by recommending and enforcing data quality standards and procedures.
+ Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits to identify and resolve data issues.

**Responsibilities:**
The Research Specialist II will provide direct research and teaching support at the professional level by working under general guidance and with latitude for exercising independent technical judgment, of moderate complexity and scope in a specialized field. Develops, designs and conducts one or more small or moderately complex research projects or experiments in line with plan, reviews progress and evaluates results. This position will also be responsible for the orientation and training of new lab members in experimental technique methods and safety education as well as participating in lab meetings and seminars.
Provides direct research support at a professional level in a large Neuroscience laboratory. Takes charge of a segment of research activities of moderate complexity. Responsible for conducting and analyzing experiments that comprise a coherent part of a larger project; and researching and resolving technical problems within the scope of those experiments.
Responsibilities:
Works independently with only occasional suggestions in modifying, varying or adapting standard procedures and experiments in the culture of human or rodent primary, Embryonic Stem cells (ES), Human Embryonic Kidney 293 Cells (HEK293) cells.
Trains and mentor's laboratory staff. Specifically, it ensures that all students and other lab staff in experimental group are trained in appropriate procedures. Advises students and lab staff on technical problems with their projects and assists them in the preparation of reports. Ensures that health and safety practices are maintained in accordance with University policy and regulations. Maintains contact with outside research laboratories, vendors, and technical representatives concerning the research. Orients visitors and onboard students and other lab staff to the laboratory.
As part of experimental procedures prepares, stains and photographs cell cultures using both light and fluorescent microscopes. Conducts
experiments; compiles and analyzes data: document results and prepare reports.
Carries out RNA isolation for genomic validation.
Analyzes histological material with computer-aided microscopy. Performs analyses and scientific data reductions by using standard methods and develops modifications of standard methods to meet special situations.
Performs complex histological procedures such as cryostat sectioning and immunohistochemistry.
Searches literature for references to technical problems involved in research projects; writes technical protocols; performs standard statistical analyses of data; and assists in the preparation of materials for publication.
Frequently gives both oral and written reports, including but not limited to, statistical and photographic analysis of data.
Maintains histological-related equipment and microscopes in the Goldman Lab, and is responsible for obtaining necessary supplies. Ensures appropriate and accessible labeling and organization of Myelin Group data and reagent storage. May recommend expenditures for equipment.
Works in tandem with lab associates in handling multiple transgenic and mutant animal colonies, maintaining databases of mouse colony mating and lineages. Verifies colony census and maintains records of DLAM procedures. Corresponds regularly with the animal resource department and lab on animal colony matters

**Responsibilities:**
The Talross Lab at the University of Rochester is seeking a highly motivated and organized candidate to provide comprehensive technical and organizational support. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

Under general direction from the Principal Investigator (PI), trains staff on details of protocol, including inclusion and exclusion criteria, informed consent procedures, study activities, source documentation and case report form (CRFs) completion, and adverse event reporting.

**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
Plans, coordinates and conducts/implements all research activities associated with the development of patient and caregiver reported outcome measures, longitudinal studies and instrument translations/cultural validations. These responsibilities include interaction with study sponsor, recruitment partners, and patients. Interprets research data at the completion of each phase of instrument development and at completion of study milestones creates written summaries with tables and figures for distribution to study sponsors and for presentation at various industry events.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, assists in the conduct of research studies beginning with the preparation of IRB materials through the following activities, all within scope of approved protocol: coordinates subject recruitment, conducts patient interviews, programs data instrument in REDCap, implements REDCap surveys, monitors data collection within REDCap.
+ Conducts analysis and interpretation of collected data from research studies in anticipation of validating patient and caregiver reported outcome measures.
+ Research grant opportunities and assists with preparation of grant application materials.
+ Assists with the preparation of study proposals for potential collaborators.
+ Prepares grant and study sponsor milestone reports.
+ Presents data to grant-making organizations or study sponsors as requested.
+ Disseminates research findings by drafting abstracts, presentations, and publications for peer review and industry forums.
+ Participates in professional associations/organizations dedicated to the neurologic diseases addressed in our research.
+ Demonstrates accountability for continuous learning.
+ Keeps current with industry standards, best practices, trends in therapeutic areas relevant to research studies; maintains team organizational practices.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
+ Bachelors' Degree Required
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
+ 1- 2 years' experience in clinical research coordination or technology research Preferred
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ Ability to perform and analyze basic statistical information.
+ Knowledge of =Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
+ Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing ability.

The Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) is seeking candidates for the position of Scientist in the Omega Experiments Group to perform research and development of novel x-ray and/or nuclear diagnostics and to lead experiments in inertial confinement fusion (ICF), nuclear physics, and/or related high energy density physics (HEDP) experiments on the OMEGA, OMEGA EP, and future laser facilities that are currently in planning stages. Laser Direct Drive (LDD) implosions of DT cryogenic targets, LDD-relevant experiments using broad bandwidth laser drivers (e.g., Fourth generation Laser for Ultra-broad bandwidth eXperiments or FLUX), and laser-based nuclear physics experiments---key missions within the science-based Stockpile Stewardship Program (SSP) of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)---are conducted on the Omega Laser Facility. The successful candidate will perform research and development for the Omega Laser Facility and future, planned experimental facilities at LLE (e.g., the ultra-high-intensity NSF OPAL facility for laser-driven nuclear physics and the OMEGA-Next facility for ICF with broad bandwidth laser drivers). The research scope of this position encompasses the research, development, and use of x-ray and nuclear diagnostics to understand the behavior of extreme states of matter created on Omega for the ICF and HEDP research fields and to plan target physics experiments for future laser facilities under development at LLE. The position requires a candidate with expertise in x-ray and nuclear diagnostics who can lead technical, engineering, and scientific staff in the development, deployment, and use of novel ICF and HEDP diagnostics on Omega, and work with theoretical and computational experts to design target physics experiments and interpret the experimental results. The successful candidate will interact routinely with subject matter experts worldwide in ICF and HEDP research communities.
**Essential Job Responsibilities**
+ Develop advanced measurement techniques to diagnose ICF implosions and related experimental platforms using state-of-the-art x-ray and nuclear diagnostics
+ Collaborate with theoretical and computational experts to design ICF and HEDP target physics experiments and to achieve a physical understanding of experimental results
+ Work with experts in target fabrication, cryogenics, and tritium science to characterize and field ICF and HEDP targets on the Omega Laser Facility to achieve experimental objectives
+ Lead ICF, nuclear physics, and related HEDP campaigns on the Omega Laser Facility
+ Collaborate with the world's leading experts in ICF and HEDP research fields on the Omega Laser Facility by defining x-ray and nuclear diagnostic configurations, collecting experimental data, and interpreting the experimental results
+ Perform research and development for the future, planned experimental facilities at LLE (e.g., NSF OPAL facility and OMEGA-Next facility)
**Qualifications**
**Qualifications and Skills**
+ PhD degree in Experimental Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field with a record of publications; research background in experimental ICF or HEDP is preferred
+ Knowledge of x-ray detection methods, including imaging and spectroscopy, and/or nuclear diagnostic techniques, and hands-on experience with diagnostic innovations and implementing novel diagnostic capabilities
+ Advanced computational skills for designing experiments and diagnostics and analyzing data, including experience working with searchable databases
+ Successful track record of working with experts in modeling and simulations to achieve a physical understanding of experimental results
+ Interpersonal skills suitable for working in a team-based, collaborative environment
+ Strong written, communication, and organizational skills to disseminate scientific results through presentations at workshops and conferences and peer-reviewed publications
The successful candidate will join the Omega Experiments group as a Scientist or at a rank commensurate with experience.
