    Apply Job Type Full-time Description The Lawrenceville School announces an opening for a Spanish teacher. We are seeking an enthusiastic, collegial individual who wants to work with other highly motivated faculty and students in a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive boarding school environment. The Lawrenceville Language Department supports students as they become citizens of the global community: the curriculum is designed to develop capacities to understand other cultures and peoples through the beauty and power of their languages. Essential Responsibilities Teach four sections/two to three preps per trimester. Two seasons of coaching or equivalent co-curricular commitment, including at least one season of interscholastic coaching (or the equivalent). Advise five to eight students. One evening a week of "House duty," providing supervision in a student residence from 6-11:30 pm. Faculty who reside in School-provided housing are expected to spend eight years living in one of the residential houses at some point in their career; although not necessarily starting their first year. Chaperone a weekend activity (dance, coffee house, etc.) one or two times a term. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Spanish; the strongest candidates will have a master's degree or higher in Spanish, or a master's in education and a bachelor's in Spanish. Ability to teach all levels, introductory to honors (college-level). Demonstrated success planning and facilitating collaborative, student-centered classes. At least two years of high school teaching experience. A passion for teaching the Spanish language and culture. A passion for working with high school-age students. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication (oral and written) abilities. Ability to work collaboratively and independently, as needed and appropriate. Demonstrated success with the effective incorporation of technology in the learning process, including Web 2.0 tools and language labs. Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Google suite and Microsoft Office suite. Experience in curriculum and assessment development. Demonstrated success in providing timely, effective student feedback. Demonstrated success working as a part of a high-performing team.
