Simple Made Easy - Rich Hickey (Watch the first 25 mins)
♥️ What We Value
Speed over everything. If you go over a pothole at 20 mph, you really feel it. If you go over at 200 mph, you barely feel it. Everything we do, we need to do with urgency. This is our superpower and why we win. This is a discipline that requires effort and focus every day.
Own, Downscope, ship, iterate: We work in small, fast cycles. Our philosophy is to downscope and ship. The goal is to get a v1 out today and learn from seeing it used. We work with users not at them. Execution is the sole currency by which our customers value us. This does not always mean success at the first iteration, but we must be fully committed to delivering.
Fundamentals done well: Most success comes from mastering the basics. The trade off is always scope, never quality. This is why we prioritize simplicity. Doing so requires extreme clarity of thought: a talent for cutting to the essence of a problem, communicating it well and then solving it.
Disagree and Commit: To move fast, we have to decide fast. That means debating ideas hard, then committing fully once a decision is made.
Enjoy the climb: Climbing Everest is hard. The air thins, your body falters, and you pass those who didn't make it. But we're here to keep climbing. This is the work that will define us. Enjoy the climb. The view at the top only means something if you loved the journey getting there.

Flow Engineering is building a requirements platform that makes complex engineering work clear, collaborative, and verifiable. The team is now building a more intuitive, AI‑enhanced product experience that feels like a modern, interactive workspace for systems and domain engineers.
About the role
Flow is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to own core user experiences in Flow and bring AI‑powered workflows into a clean, intuitive UI. You will work closely with design, product, infra, and AI engineers to make complex systems engineering concepts feel simple and fast.
You will help define how “agentic systems engineers” and domain experts interact with Flow, from requirements views to reviews, simulations, and AI assistance.
What you'll do
Own major user‑facing surfaces in Flow v3, including interactive requirements views, collaboration and review flows, and AI‑assisted workflows.
Implement high‑quality, accessible UI using a modern frontend framework and component system.
Integrate AI features into the product in ways that feel natural, interpretable, and helpful to engineers.
Partner with design and product to iterate quickly on interaction patterns, prototypes, and new workflows.
Help shape frontend architecture, design systems, and performance optimizations as the app and user base scale.
About you
3+ years of experience building rich, data‑heavy web applications with a modern frontend framework.
Strong experience with React (or similar) and TypeScript, including component design, state management, and testing.
A product mindset: you think in terms of user journeys, edge cases, and clarity, not just individual screens.
Comfortable collaborating closely with design and product, and giving and receiving feedback through iterations.
Willingness to occasionally work across the stack (e.g., refining APIs, wiring up integrations) to ship features end‑to‑end.
Our stack (frontend‑leaning)
React and TypeScript as the primary frontend stack.
Tailwind or a similar utility‑first or component‑driven styling approach.
Integration with backend APIs and AI services built in TypeScript/Node.js.
How we work & values
Speed over everything: ship Flow v3 in slices, not in one big bang.
Own, downscope, ship, iterate: you'll own features from idea to shipped UI.
Maximum effort, maximum fun: high energy, high ownership, and a team you want to build with.
Competitive salary and meaningful equity.
Health, dental, and vision coverage.
Flexible time off and support for learning, conferences, and great tools.

Software Engineer, Infrastructure - San Francisco
The Engineering Company 4.1
San Francisco, CA jobs
About Flow
Flow Engineering is building a requirements platform for modern engineering teams, helping them design, build, and verify complex systems in an iterative way. After a recent Series A, the team is scaling the product from thousands of users to hundreds of thousands while holding a high bar on reliability and speed.
About the role
Flow is hiring a Software Engineer with an infrastructure focus to build and scale the core platform behind Flow. You will own services and infrastructure that let “agentic systems engineers” and product teams rely on Flow in their day-to-day work.
You will join a small, senior, high-ownership team that values speed, ownership, and strong fundamentals: ship v1s quickly, learn, and iterate.
What you'll do
Design, build, and operate backend services and platform primitives that support complex engineering workflows and collaboration at scale.
Scale Flow from thousands of users to hundreds of thousands, improving performance, reliability, observability, and security across the stack.
Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and internal tooling so the team can ship quickly and safely.
Collaborate with frontend and AI engineers to define APIs, data models, and integration points that are robust and easy to evolve.
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction as the product and customer base grow.
About you
3+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS or GCP).
Strong understanding of systems design, distributed systems, reliability, observability, and security best practices.
Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g., Docker, Terraform, or similar).
Comfortable owning projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment and making pragmatic tradeoffs under ambiguity.
Collaborative, low-ego, and excited to work closely with product, design, and customer-facing teams.
Our stack (infra-leaning)
TypeScript, Node.js, and React on the application side (with a strong bias toward type safety).
Postgres and other managed cloud services for persistence and messaging.
Containers, Terraform (or similar), and a major cloud provider (AWS/GCP) for infrastructure.
How we work & values
Speed over everything: ship v1s quickly, learn, and iterate rather than chasing perfection.
Own, downscope, ship, iterate: clear ownership, smallest real thing, tight feedback loops.
Fundamentals done well: simple, repeatable systems that let us move fast without breaking trust.
Competitive salary and meaningful equity.
Health, dental, and vision coverage.
Flexible time off and support for travel to customers when it matters (“get on a plane”).
