    Wichita Job Title: Operator, Assembly Department: 680, Production - Plastics Reports To: Supervisor FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Updated: December 2013 Primary Function: Performs a series or combination of tasks involved in the assembly of coolers Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs a variety of tasks to produce various coolers. Judgment is required to maintain Line speed and to produce quality product in compliance with defined production specifications. * Confirm and sign Assembly line and safety buyoff prior to starting line. * Initiate product run and remove parts with damage or unacceptable defects. * Maintain cycle time standard to meet production requirements. * Operate pour station in compliance with quality standards and training. * Operate fixtures to perform various tasks (dejig, wheels, handles and packout) * Track good/bad parts produced. * Continuously inspect for Critical to Quality (CTQ) elements and immediately notify of defects and/or errors. * Utilize 5S methods to maintain a clean work environment and follow Lean Manufacturing Principles. * Use of hand and portable tools including use of a knife, drill and/or scraper blade. Use of cleaning tools such as brooms. * Responsible for quality of own work. * Responsible for notifying lead/supervisor with machine issues and material shortages. * Work in a safe manner at all times and in compliance with site Safety Policies. Comply with all Coleman policies and procedures. * Ability to work a weekend schedule and overtime as needed. * Performs other related duties as required including but not limited to training for these processes. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, Engineering or Industrial Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience: 3 plus years of progressive experience in environment safety and sustainability management preferred. Strong knowledge of safety regulations OSHA hazard communications accident investigation and safety training methods.
