Position Summary
The Pre-Operative Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all scheduled surgical patients receive timely, accurate, and comprehensive pre-operative evaluation and medical clearance. This role serves as the clinical liaison between the patient, surgeons, anesthesia providers, primary care physicians, and ancillary services to facilitate safe, efficient surgical care. The Pre-Op Coordinator utilizes strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills to identify risk factors, coordinate necessary testing, and ensure all pre-surgical requirements are completed prior to the day of surgery.
Essential Functions
Conduct thorough pre-operative nursing assessments via phone, chart review, or in-person visits
Review medical history, medications, allergies, and previous anesthesia history to identify potential risk factors
Schedule and coordinate pre-op testing and ensure all results are obtained and reviewed prior to surgery
Serve as the primary contact for surgical offices regarding patient readiness and testing requirements
Document all assessments, communications, and testing results in the electronic medical record
Provide pre-operative instructions, medication guidance, NPO requirements, and procedure-specific preparation details
Participate in developing and updating pre-operative protocols, checklists, and patient education materials
Position Qualifications
Current RN or LPN license in the state of Kansas
Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (perioperative, PACU, SDS, critical care, ED, or med-surg strongly preferred)
Current BLS certification

Accuracy of 95% or higher for scanning and indexing patient health records/documents. Accurate analysis of patient health records 98% or higher for any missing documents, signatures, orders, consents, etc and with thorough review of the required documents for all hospital patient types.
Completion of analysis of records and accurate deficiency assignment, starting with the oldest date of service completed first
Daily completion of ER records within the Queuelogix system
Review of providers History and Physical documents for OPPE data.
Working on failed faxes in the RightFax system, resending as appropriate
Help and assist with Release of Information (ROI) requests and questions regardless of the arrival format (in person, phone call, email, fax, etc). Assist with covering ROI office phones on a scheduled basis.
Triage documents to identify those that could be documented directly in the EMR via an existing template or via standard nurse or physician documentation practices.
Consistently demonstrates the ability to quickly locate any missing paper records or electronic documents and enter into the incident reporting system (Verge) if not located within three (3) business days of discharge date.
Share in the rotation with the weekly on-call schedule covering outside normal business hours, including second shift, weekends and holidays. Assist with covering the Department Assistant job duties when necessary.
Monthly hospital patient health record tracers performed at the point of care for The Joint Commission Record of Care, Treatment and Services (RC) Chapter- reviewing specific elements within the patient record.

What you will do
The Rapid Response Nurse is a highly-skilled licensed practitioner trained to respond and support bedside nurses and practitioners when urgent and emergent situations arise. The Rapid Response Nurse is a resource who exercises independent nursing judgment in managing the care of patients with complex health problems, as well as staff nurses throughout the organization in managing urgent and emergent situations.
The Rapid Response nurse serves in a roving role addressing multiple needs and situations as they arise through the shift, but may be required to assume patient care assignments in the critical care units.
Workflows are based on urgent patient care needs, however, the rapid response nurses will also have assigned tasks to complete such as projects, staff education, performance improvement data collection, etc.
A collaborative member of the health care team, the Rapid Response Team RN delivers nursing care to specific populations of patients. The Rapid Response Team RN will work collaboratively with the Medical Critical Care charge nurse(s) to ensure high quality delivery of care and to maintain continuity of care through appropriate referral and follow-up. The Rapid Response Team RN is an active member of the Rapid Response Committee, Trauma Committee, and the MTP Committee.
The Rapid Response Nurse collaborates with the House Supervisors to triage priorities that support patient care needs.
Responds to all Rapid Response Team calls. This will include Code Blue, S.T.A.T., Trauma, and Massive Transfusion Protocol. Completes post S.T.A.T. Event follow-up and documentation.
The Rapid Response Nurse may also provide consultative resources.
Facilitates debriefings / critiques of Code Blue events.
Reviews on a daily basis the medical records of restrained patients, to ensure standards of care are being met.
Communicates on a daily basis with each charge nurse to identify high risk patients.
Uses critical thinking and assessment skills to serve as a resource to colleagues and assist with emergency/urgent patient care needs throughout the facility.

JOB SUMMARY
Newman Regional Health ED physician provides availability to see emergent patients reasonably designated by the Hospital by providing clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic medical services in accordance with the standards of the Hospital and the State of Kansas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The physician will provide high-quality direct patient care and will remain current in issues concerning advancement in emergency medicine. In addition, documentation will be accurately completed in a timely manner and skills in the use of informational systems required (Meditech) for patient care is maintained. The Emergency Room Physician will perform history and physical examinations, administer or prescribe treatments, perform minor surgical and orthopedic procedures, and analyze reports and findings of tests and examination.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
MD/DO degree
One year of graduate medical education in a clinical specialty
Board certification, ACLS, PALS, and NALS required
Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Kansas
