Your Impact As a Technician for Newmont's Geochemistry Lab Facility, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our lab buildings, equipment, and sample-handling processes-directly supporting geochemical analysis that informs exploration and production decisions. As Part of Our Team, You Will * Oversee daily warehouse and facility operations including receiving, inventory tracking, and outbound shipping. * Partner with facilities management to maintain building safety, security, and general facilities upkeep; coordinate with contractors for repairs or maintenance needed. * Manage domestic and international shipments of geochemical samples, equipment, and hazardous materials including documentation, customs, and regulatory compliance. * Serve as the site safety lead, ensuring OSHA and company compliance, hazard identification, and safety training for all staff and visitors. * Perform regular safety inspections for facility and warehouse equipment such as air compressors, forklift, and industrial ovens. * Identify potential safety hazards and implement risk-mitigation strategies. * Stay informed of regulatory updates impacting safety, shipping, and facility operations. * Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper labeling, handling, and chain of custody for samples and equipment. * Support office operations with basic administrative tasks as needed including, but not limited to, vendor performance reporting, contract status, and recordkeeping. What You Will Do * Safely perform duties related to the production of copper and/or molybdenum concentrates in the Mill at a skilled level. * Complete duties within the Mill process which could include tasks within the following areas: fine crushing plant, COB, ball Mill, roughers, cleaners, flotation cells, moly plant, copper moly thickeners, tailing thickeners, and mill control room * Take process readings and makes necessary process changes or adjustments * Use electronic process monitoring system to monitor conveyor, plant systems and equipment * Perform start-up and shut-down of plant or related systems * Operate processing equipment and makes adjustments as needed; performs basic maintenance on processing equipment and reports maintenance issues * May operate mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, skid-steer loaders, and overhead cranes * Perform area housekeeping duties and may perform work area and safety audits * Perform other duties as required What You Bring To Freeport * Six (6) months of experience in Mill process operations * Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. What You Will Do * Perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders. * Perform the removal, repair and installation of transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque convertors, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components. * Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems such as: hydraulic, power train and engines. * Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed. * Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections. * Operate mobile equipment such as: Overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks. * Perform welding such as: Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick. * Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required. * Train and mentor other employees. * Perform other duties as required.
