WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …
We are seeking an experienced Care Coordinator who will be responsible for actively engaging and collaborating with clients to reduce barriers to achieving positive outcomes in critical areas of life through comprehensive care coordination. This support service is complementary and integrated to the client's current NMH care service team.
This is a grant funded position.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in daily team meetings to review client's care coordination needs, follow-ups, and referrals.
Outreach clients by phone/email/text to assist with care coordination needs as they pertain to the client's recovery goals with plans to overcome potential obstacles.
Provide support with understanding medications and health system navigation, and find solutions to challenges such as transportation, referrals, warm-hand offs, and/or communication with other external partners.
Communicate with client families and support members as part of the client's recovery plan.
Participate in individual and/or group supervision for professional development to support the skills required for this role.
Requirements:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the Human Services field.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree in a related Human Services field preferred.
Exceptional verbal and writing skills with the ability to communicate with audiences across all levels.

Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation to travel to our facilities throughout the area.

We are currently seeking a reliable, responsible Janitor to help maintain and care for our facilities. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, needs minimal supervision, remains flexible, focused, and is committed to maintaining a clean, safe environment for our staff and patients.
The start time for this position is 6am, Monday-Friday.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Painting.
Respond to basic Facility work requests submitted via the ticketing system.
The use of cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the office looking clean and professional.
Restock items and assist with supplies management at all sites.
Perform basic maintenance work and minor repairs.
Confirm grounds are clear and safe for staff and patients.
Undertake occasional seasonal tasks (e.g., shoveling snow from the walkways).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …
The Team Lead oversees, coordinates, and ensures the effective delivery of Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS) for children, adolescents, and their families. This position combines clinical supervision with program administration, managing the day-to-day operations of the IICAPS program, ensuring model fidelity, and promoting high-quality, trauma-informed care. The Coordinator provides clinical supervision to IICAPS teams, ensures compliance with all regulatory and program standards, and fosters a collaborative, supportive, and learning-oriented environment.
Essential Duties:
Provide individual and group clinical supervision and guidance to IICAPS clinicians (therapists, case managers, and support staff), ensuring fidelity to the IICAPS model, adherence to clinical boundaries, and support for licensure supervision where appropriate.
Facilitate regular team meetings, case consultations, and clinical reviews to ensure effective treatment planning, model fidelity, and therapeutic progress.
Support teams in developing and reviewing Family Cycle drafts, clinical formulations, diagnoses, and treatment plans that reflect the child and family's perspectives.
Provide back-up clinical coverage and crisis response as needed; may carry a small caseload depending on program size.
Manage day-to-day program operations, including team assignments, scheduling, and case flow management.
Determine if children referred to IICAPS meet medical necessity criteria for services.
Serve as liaison among clinical teams, the Administrative Team, referral sources, community partners, and external agencies to ensure seamless coordination and continuity of care with schools, hospitals, and other providers.
Oversee clinical and administrative documentation to ensure compliance with organizational, state, and payer requirements, including billing, insurance authorizations, and data integrity.
Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, treatment fidelity, and service quality; lead quality improvement initiatives that use data and feedback to enhance clinical effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Provide ongoing training, workshops, and professional development to strengthen staff clinical, administrative, and cultural competence.
Stay informed about current trends, evidence-based practices, and regulatory updates in child and adolescent mental health and in-home service delivery.
Promote a culture of collaboration within the program and organization.
Participate in leadership meetings, cross-program initiatives, and organizational planning.
Requirements:

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (LCDP), or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and families, preferably in an intensive in-home or community-based setting.
Proven experience in clinical supervision, team leadership, and program management.
Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, therapeutic interventions, and crisis intervention techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Provide practical help and mentoring, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving and direct assistance to help clients obtain the necessities of daily living. On an individual basis these may include medical and dental health care; legal advocacy and link with legal services; financial support such as entitlements (SSI, SSDI, veterans' benefits) and housing subsidies (HUD Section 8); money management assistance, such as access to payee services if required, and transportation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify strategies to develop trusting and stable relationships with clients served by the assigned team.
Meet with clients individually in the community or at their homes or in groups at the center.
In conjunction with client, develop recovery goals, identify barriers, and establish plans to achieve them.
Support and assist clients in problem solving around Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as well as health and wellness promotion.
Participate in weekly individual and monthly group supervision to learn therapeutic and problem-solving techniques.
Develop a personal recovery plan for continued personal health and wellness goals.

NMH provides comprehensive training to ensure all Peer Recovery Support Specialists are prepared for their new role. This position requires (RICB) certification in our state. The certification requires approximately 46 hours of training and the successful completion of an exam. Also, we recommend the 70-hour dual certification training to better serve our population. Further, NMH offers a paid internship for a minimum of 500 hours. Successful trainees are guaranteed a job if they pass certification and complete their training hours. We also reimburse the cost of certification for successful candidates. In addition to our comprehensive training for Peer Recovery Specialists, they are also provided with one hour of supervision each week to further their skills development.

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Children's Community-Based Project Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing school-based mental health initiatives that support the emotional well-being of children and youth. Under the supervision of the Director of Workforce, the Workforce Development Specialist provides administrative support services to the Workforce & Strategic Development Department including but not limited to maintain and monitor training plans, onboarding schedules, training compliance, reporting, and coordination. Manage information flow within the team(s) and ensure that critical information is shared among team members, and across the agency.

A clinician in the Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS) program plays a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health care to children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral issues. The primary objective of the clinician is to deliver individualized, evidence-based therapeutic interventions directly in the client's home, supporting both the child and their family.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide home-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to children and families.
Deliver comprehensive mental health services to children, parents, and families in various settings.
Maintain client records.
Serve as liaison with outside agencies and referral services.
Coordinate team services to comply with recovery plans.
Demonstrate innovative problem-solving, crisis intervention, and management skills.
Collaborate within a team to offer interventions including therapy, crisis response, consultation, advocacy, and linkages.
Collaborate with other professionals to ensure adherence to IICAPS credentialing requirements.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, family therapy or a related clinical field.
Licensed at the independent practice level as defined by the Rhode Island Department of Health (LICSW) preferred. LCSW and LMHC will also be considered.
Minimum of two years of clinical work experience.
Experience providing individual, group, and family psychosocial assessments and treatment.
Demonstrate expertise in assessment, crisis intervention, and child and family therapy, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Have a solid commitment to your work and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Be credentialed to provide diagnostic and treatment services to children 0-18 and their families under a Licensed Clinician's supervision.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …
This position will ensure that individuals who may be eligible for state, federal and local benefits are supported in the process of accessing and making application for benefits. This includes registration, insurance eligibility and enrollment/re-enrollment and access to community-based behavioral health treatment for clients. Support completion and review each application to confirm that the financial statements and other personal information are accurate. Interview the applicants and family members when necessary, and document all your findings that lead to approval or denial of the Medicaid application.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit Medicaid application, respond to any requests for additional information, prepare appeals for SSI/SSDI denials, and provide advocacy throughout the process.
Knowledge of the RI Medicaid Health Care Portal.
Knowledge of different Medicaid products such as QMB and SLMB.
Reviewing Monthly Medicaid report to ensure active Medicaid for Clients.
Assist with SNAP applications.
Screen and assist with all steps of the Medicaid and Charity Care enrollment process.
Ensure timely submission of Medicaid or Charity application based off program guidelines.
Gather, verify, evaluate, and enter necessary social, financial, and medical information into various applications.
Meet (on the phone or in person) with program participants on a monthly basis or more frequently if needed.
Outreach to individuals to determine Medicaid eligibility and continuing eligibility for income maintenance programs related to medical services.
Utilizes tools to estimate patient financial obligations, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance and then meeting with patients to discuss payment options.
Receives and maintains Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification, if applicable.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferably in public health, health education or related field and/or minimum of two years of benefits and insurance experience preferred.
Knowledge of public and private benefits and state resources.
Knowledge of federal/state laws, accreditation and regulatory standards governing confidentiality of health care record.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team. This role is vital in providing high-quality mental health care to our patients. The APRN will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of mental health disorders, and a commitment to enhancing patient well-being.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
Provide medical and clinical consultations to dually diagnosed clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with NMH standards.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychiatric interventions and adjust recovery plans as necessary.
Focus on health maintenance, disease prevention and psychoeducation for clients and families.

Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine and prescribe medications in the state of Rhode Island
MSN in Nursing - Credentialed as an APRN or related discipline with Prescriptive Privileges preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in providing psychiatric services to adults.
Proficiency in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment modalities for adult mental health disorders.
Current Licensure to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
Eligible to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional through the Department of MHRH.
Eligible to be credentialed as an Allied Health Professional at Newport Hospital.
Skill in coordinating emergency assessments for adults
Authorized to prescribe psychotropic medications by the Sate of Rhode Island legend medications and controlled substances as described in the RI Nurse Practitioner Act (Chapter 5-34) (Section 5-34-41).
Ability to become familiar with health insurance plans, benefits, and referral process.
Demonstrated experience and competence in the PCNS role re: QI clinical practice, assessments, and professional nursing practice.

The Co-Occurring Therapist plays a vital role in providing counseling, support, and guidance to individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders. This role would hold licensure as an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) as well as possessing their Masters in Social Work. This role involves conducting assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions, facilitating group therapy sessions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assist clients on their journey to recovery.
Essential Duties:
Provide individual substance use counseling to assigned clients in accordance with organization policy & procedures.
Facilitate individual counseling sessions to address clients' substance use challenges, triggers, and coping strategies.
Lead group therapy sessions focused on relapse prevention, life skills, and peer support.
Collaborate with other disciplines and coworkers to ensure client needs are met.
Educate clients regarding issues associated with substance abuse treatment.
Attend required training and collaboration sessions [i.e., learning sessions, outcomes congress, care management collaboration meetings, and practice team meetings] as scheduled.
Provide initial diagnostic and psychosocial assessments and administer outcome measurement and risk assessment tools.
Conduct thorough assessments of clients' substance use history, mental health status, and treatment needs in compliance with The ASAM Criteria
Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their recovery goals.
Provide educational workshops and discussions on topics such as the effects of substance use, relapse prevention strategies, and healthy coping mechanisms.
Respond to crisis situations promptly, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
Implement crisis management protocols and collaborate with the treatment team as needed.
Ability to assess the need for higher levels of care including crisis stabilization units and inpatient hospitalization.
Actively participate in team communication processes that ensure appropriate services and outcomes.
Work side by side with service recipients to create person-centered treatment/recovery plans.
Provide clinical consultation and guidance to Bachelor level case management staff as needed.
Complete all agency documentation in a timely manner utilizing a collaborative documentation approach.
Work with the clinical director to develop strategies for services, participation and retention
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help clients address underlying emotional issues contributing to substance use.
Guide clients in developing healthier coping mechanisms and stress management skills.

The Crisis Stabilization Clinical Supervisor will lead the Emergency Services and Access clinical team which provides a full range of mobile crisis services in the community which may include home, school, office, or other natural environments, as well as in-office and community intakes into services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the ES and Access team to ensure expert level clinical and clinical support services are provided.
Monitor quantity, quality, and follow-up plans for all assessments completed within the department.
Work closely with area Police, Fire, School Staff, and other Community partner / agencies.
Ensure quality of care through direct supervision of team staff.
Review, interpret and respond to administrative, clinical, and statistical reports; demonstrate understanding and monitor compliance of department performance with standards of clinical record documentation.
Provide direct clinical services as needed, including intake assessments, emergency evaluations, crisis stabilization services, answering crisis line and being available as administrative back-up on crisis line.
Provide consultation and follow-up communication with community agencies, medical facilities, law enforcement agencies, and inpatient units.

Current valid RI LICSW or related field and QMHP.
Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with children, families, and adults in an emergency service setting.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide integrated, patient-centered care between the hours of 8 AM and 430 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or evenings. Nursing at NMH is team based. As such, NMH offers an excellent opportunity to learn and strengthen therapeutic skills in a multidisciplinary setting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide professional, patient-centered, psychiatric/mental health nursing to clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
Complete nursing assessments of client's bio=social needs including MSE and assessment of risk profiles.
Provide medication per MD/NP orders, including injections.
Provide medication education based on client's need and assessed level of readiness and level of understanding.
Practice integrated health by coordinating with other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
Participate in professional interdisciplinary meetings.
Maintain accurate patient medical records.
Provide guidance and emotional support to patients and their family members.
Actively engage in supervision of at least one-hour individual supervision per month and three hours of group supervision.
The Team R.N. is responsible for reviewing and approving competencies of new staff for the supervised medication program.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…
Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Rhode Island.
Previous psychiatric nursing experience preferred, which may include inpatient, outpatient, community support, emergency services.
Bachelors of Science Nursing (BSN) preferred.
1-2 years of nursing experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, detail orientated a must.
Willingness to take an active role in professional growth and the supervision process.
Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation to travel to our facilities throughout the area.
