JOB DESCRIPTION
MORNING SHOW LINE PRODUCER

Responsible for organization and production of newscasts including show rundown, story selection and execution of show; Act as liaison between on-air talent and production and technical staffs. Familiarity with day-to-day operations of live television broadcast.

Requirements:
3-5 years live television production experience in this market preferred; Individual must be detail oriented, plugged into current events with an emphasis on health, business, lifestyle and entertainment topics. Research, book and produce individual segments within a newscast and then line produce the segments to air. Pre-interview guests, research topics and write scripts for live and recorded pieces, segments and studio guests. Must have control room booth skills. Individual must be able to work overnight shift along with flexible hours and weekends.

• 2+ years of writing and reporting experience at a publisher or website
• A strong understanding of the subjects Complex covers
• Outstanding spelling and grammar competency
• Exceptional multi-tasking and communication skills
• Sound editorial judgment
• The ability to work under pressure and hit deadlines while maintaining quality work
• Experience working in a Content Management System
• Flexibility in schedule to potentially work daytime, evenings, and weekends

• Trawling relevant daily news feeds for breaking developments and trends, and delivering them to the CBR News Editorial Team,
• Exploring relevant social media feeds, including Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, TikTok and others for news stories, to give context to them and gauge audience feedback,
• Tuning in to popular podcasts, streams and YouTube shows to enhance Comic Book coverage,
• Researching, writing, self-editing and posting 3 to 5 relevant TV/Movie News items per weekday.
• Coordinate with News Shift Editors and Senior CBR News Editor for assignments and feedback

Applicants must be highly motivated and possess the following requirements:

• Relevant experience in writing and editing
  • Some background in journalistic writing is preferred
• Broad working knowledge of old and current comics
• Available at peak hours and strategic posting times strongly preferred; weekend availability a plus.
